"We stared into the abyss... and it became us."

The Elder Quintumvirate (first introduced here) is a five-Pony group of eldritch divines that originated from the Second Age.

    General
  • Deity of Human Origin: The members of the Elder Quintumvirate were once ordinary teenage Neighponese fillies and colts, chosen by NERV to pilot Evangelion Units based on their ability to form neural links with them. They eventually Ascended to godhood by absorbing all the power of the Angels they killed, turning themselves into "equine abominations" whose changed natures were as dangerous to others as they were to themselves. At least, until Dr. Endless Dreams took them in.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Killing many Angels and absorbing their powers led to them becoming eldritch deities with very unnerving presences. And because of their trauma and inexperience with their own powers, their newfound divinity was dangerous to others as it was to themselves. Fortunately, Dr. Endless Dreams would take them in and teach them how to master their new powers.
  • Expy: All members of the Elder Quintumvirate are based on the EVA pilots, though they're more based on their Elder God counterparts.
  • Happily Adopted: After outliving their original families, who died either from their battles with the Angels, old age, or in Star Shield's parents' case, being killed to end the False Utopia they created out of good intentions, they would be taken by Dr. Endless Dreams. At first she was only their mentor, but she later took on the role as their surrogate mother. This helped curb the worst aspects of their PTSD enormously until they could get proper therapy from Mentálne.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: They were sent by NERV to fight the Angels that threatened Neighpon in the Second Age. They ended up assimilating so much power with each Angel killed that eventually, they Ascended and became eldritch deities. As summarized by their group motto, they stared into the abyss long enough for it to become them.
  • Lovecraftian Superpower: Implied. The fact that they killed so many Angels as part of a plan masterminded by Star Shield's parents to turn Neighpon (and later, the entire world) into a paradise for their son gave them a lot of uncanny and eldritch abilities similar to Dr. Endless Dreams'. The sheer inexperience with said abilities, combined with the utter wrongness of their mere presence, made them a danger to both themselves and each other until Dr. Endless Dreams took them in.
  • A Shared Suffering:
    • Much of their relationship with their adoptive mother, Dr. Endless Dreams, came from bonding over how they ended up becoming eldritch deities through being used as pawns by outside forces.
    • Later on, they would develop a similar relationship with Prince Varázsló, who was horrifically abused by the 'Knowledgeable Sorcerer' as a child. This was invoked by Golden Scepter, who wanted Varázsló to snap out of his obsession with alternative realities and deduced that developing empathy towards those who suffered similarly would help him best.
  • Two Girls to a Team: Inverted. The members of the Elder Quintumvirate are based on the Elder God counterparts of the EVA pilots, so the group contains two gods and three goddesses.
  • Unwitting Pawn: This happened to them in the Second Age. All of them were pawns to Limit Break and Star Song. Limit Break and Star Song masterminded a plan to create a utopia for their son, Star Shield, which involved making Star Shield and his friends Ascend to godhood by killing many Angels, then using the collective power amassed by the children to create said utopia. Eventually, Star Shield and his friends caught on, and killed Limit Break and Star Song to save Equus from being corrupted, but the entire ordeal gave them a lot of PTSD and guilt in return. Dr. Endless Dreams deeply sympathizes with the Elder Quintumvirate over this, as she herself was used as a tool by a cult to summon a sealed eldritch god, and vows to protect her young charges from those who seek to exploit them.
Dr. Endless Dreams: You poor dears... you colts and fillies have been through a lot, haven't you? I'm gonna make sure no one tries to use you or subject you to that kind of situation ever again.
  • Victor Gains Loser's Powers: A rather dark example. By killing Angels and assimilating them, the EVA pilots gained their powers, but gradually end up becoming as eldritch as their foes. This is what partially contributed to their collective trauma, as their young minds couldn't handle becoming something very inequine.
  • Walking the Earth: After the Second Age ended and Dr. Endless Dreams fell into a deep slumber, the Elder Quintumvirate would wander all over Equus to find a place for themselves in the world. It's not until the Fourth Age where they would reunite with Dr. Endless Dreams and receive therapy from Mentálne.

Star Shield, the Father of Spiders

Classification: TBA

Portfolio: TBA

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

  • Alliterative Name: Star Shield.
  • Deity of Human Origin: He was once an ordinary teenage Neighponese colt who was chosen by NERV to pilot Evangelion Units based on his ability to form neural links with them. He eventually Ascended to godhood alongside his friends by absorbing all the power of the Angels they killed, turning themselves into "equine abominations" whose changed natures were as dangerous to others as they were to themselves, at least until Dr. Endless Dreams took them in.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Equine variant. Killing many Angels and absorbing their powers led to him becoming an eldritch god with a very unnerving presence. And because of his trauma and inexperience with it, his newfound divinity was dangerous to others as it was to him. Fortunately, Dr. Endless Dreams would take him and his friends in and teach them how to master their new powers.
  • Expy: He's based on Shinji Ikari, except he heavily takes after his Elder God counterpart.
  • Lovecraftian Superpower: Implied. The fact that he killed so many Angels as part of a plan masterminded by his own parents to turn Neighpon (and later, the entire world) into a paradise for their son gave him a lot of uncanny and eldritch abilities similar to Dr. Endless Dreams'. The sheer inexperience with said abilities, combined with the utter wrongness of his mere presence and the trauma he suffered, made him a danger to both himself and others until Dr. Endless Dreams took him in.
  • Self-Made Orphan: Happens to him. Much like what happened to Shinji Ikari in Children of an Elder God, Star Shield had to kill his own parents to end their False Utopia and stop them from accidentally corrupting the entire world with their grand plans. This gave him a lot of PTSD and guilt later on, though thankfully most of it would be curbed by Dr. Endless Dreams until he and his friends received therapy from Mentálne.

    Fragrant Dragon

Classification: TBA

Portfolio: TBA

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: She's based on Asuka Soryu-Langley, except she takes after her counterpart from Children of an Elder God and thus is much nicer than her anime counterpart.
  • Deity of Human Origin: She was once an ordinary teenage Neighponese filly who was chosen by NERV to pilot Evangelion Units based on her ability to form neural links with them. She eventually Ascended to godhood alongside her friends by absorbing all the power of the Angels they killed, turning themselves into "equine abominations" whose changed natures were as dangerous to others as they were to themselves, at least until Dr. Endless Dreams took them in.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Killing many Angels and absorbing their powers led to her becoming an eldritch goddess with a very unnerving presence. And because of her trauma and inexperience with it, her newfound divinity was dangerous to others as it was to her. Fortunately, Dr. Endless Dreams would take her and her friends in and teach them how to master their new powers.
