KOS-MOS
One of the protagonists of the Xenosaga series. KOS-MOS is an android built by Vector Industries for the purpose of fighting the alien menace known as the Gnosis. At first blush, she appears to be a simple machine who fights and does as she is programmed to do, but she harbors a secret that could determine the fate of mankind.
- Limit Break: X-Buster: After confining the victim, KOS-MOS unleashed a massive barrage of homing lasers.
Cloud
The protagonist of Final Fantasy VII. Cloud Strife is a former member of SOLDIER, the private military of the Shinra Electric Company, who left to become a mercenary and joined with the ecoterrorist organization AVALANCHE. What started as a simple bombing mission against one of Shin-Ra's destructive Mako reactors leads Cloud embarking on a quest that will call everything he knows into question to face off against his former comrade Sephiroth.
- BFS: His Buster Sword.
- Limit Break: Omnislash: Cloud unleashes a fast and furious series of slashes that ends with a final diving stroke of his sword.
Link
The protagonist of the Legend of Zelda series. Link is a young Hylian who bears the Triforce of Courage, one of the three pieces of the Triforce that maintain the balance of the realm of Hyrule. Time and again, when the realm is threatened by the forces of darkness, Link answers the call of the Triforce to deliver the land and its people from ruin.
- Limit Break: Triforce Slash: Link uses the power of the Triforce to hold his victim in place, then deliver a powerful succession of sword strikes before finishing with a final slash.
- Walking Armory: Among Link's weapons are his trusty Master Sword and Hylian Shield, his bow and arrows, bombs, boomerangs, and a hookshot.
X
The protagonist of the Mega Man X series. The last creation of the famed roboticist Thomas Light, X is the first robot capable of thinking, feeling, and acting without human input. He became the basis for a new race of intelligent machines known as "Reploids". When robots become Mavericks and lash out at humanity, X reluctantly throws himself into the fray to protect the peace.
- Arm Cannon: The X-Buster, natch.
- Limit Break: Giga Crush: X dons the Force Armor, then unloads a barrage of attacks on his opponent along with Zero before finishing with an explosion of energy.
Samus
The protagonist of the Metroid series. After losing her parents to the Space Pirates, Samus Aran was taken in by the Chozo, a race of wise aliens who gifted her with their blood and one of their greatest creations: the high-tech Varia Suit. Now, Samus is one-woman army and a bounty hunter of great renown. Time and again, she has protected the galaxy from the machinations of the vicious Space Pirates and the dangerous alien lifeforms known as Metroids.
- Limit Break: Zero Laser: After chasing down her opponent with Hyper Beam blasts, Samus fires a powerful laser blast at her victim.
M. Chief
The protagonist of the Halo series. John-117, better known by his rank of "Master Chief", is a genetically enhanced supersoldier from the SPARTAN program of the United Nations Space Command. When a dangerous alien army known as the Covenant declared war against humanity, the Master Chief threw himself into the fray to defeat the great enemy, his battles also pitting him against the virulent parasites known as the Flood, as well as exploring the mysteries of the planet-sized ring-shaped superstructures known as "Halos".
- Limit Break: UNSC Forces: Chief summons a group of Marines to chase down his opponent in a Warthog before finishing with a homing missile blast.
Soma
The protagonist of Castlevania Chronicle Of Sorrow. Soma Cruz was an Ordinary High-School Student in the year 2035 when he found himself drawn into Castlevania, the sprawling demonic castle that was home to the dread vampire Dracula. Discovering that he, himself, is Dracula's reincarnation, and with the Power of Dominance at his beck and call, Soma dives into the castle to end the threat it posed.
- Limit Break: Fifth Seal: Soma transforms into a demon and attacks his opponent before banishing them with a magical seal.
Crono
The protagonist of Chrono Trigger. Crono was an ordinary young man who found himself embarking on a grand adventure throughout history following an accident with a time machine. Alongside his friend Lucca, the rebellious princess Marle, and a group of companions from across time and space, Crono takes it upon himself to save the world from the otherworldly monster Lavos, whose awakening in the future would spell the end of civilization.
- Assist Character: Crono can call upon the aid of Marle, Lucca, Robo, Frog, and Ayla in his Alfa and Beta attacks.
- Limit Break: Luminaire: After having his allies lay into his opponent, Crono finishes with an explosion of light.
Valkyrie
The protagonist of The Legend of Valkyrie. The daughter of a divine goddess, Valkyrie is a warrior who was sent to save her world when chaos erupted over the Golden Seed, which had the power to grant any wish. When the wicked demon Kamuz set his sights on the Golden Seed for his own nefarious purposes, Valkyrie, along with a lizardman named Kurino, sets out to thwart his schemes and save the world.
- Limit Break: Goddess Descent: After laying into her opponent with her allies, Valkyrie finishes with a diving slash.
Lenneth
Ivy
One of the many characters from the Soulcalibur series. Isabella "Ivy" Valentine is the last scion of the Valentine family, which fell into ruin when its patriarch searched for the secret to immortality. Ivy eventually found the secret he had sought was Soul Edge, an evil sword responsible for great calamity in the world. Thus, Ivy makes it her life's mission to see Soul Edge destroyed, using her knowledge of alchemy and her whip-blade, the Snake Sword, to see the fell sword destroyed.
- Limit Break: Grand Alchemy: Ivy binds her opponent in place with magical circles before assailing them with the separated fragments of her Snake Sword.
Etna
One of the protagonists of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. A power-hungry demoness and leader of an army of Prinnies, Etna is a vassal of the demon prince Laharl. Far from a loyal servant, however, Etna is always scheming to take the reigns of the Overlord's castle and rule the Underworld herself.
- Limit Break: While not implemented in the prototype release, Etna is shown having a Crisis Card attack that buries her opponent in dark orbs before bombarding them with a massive fireball.
