  • Heroic Sacrifice: In the final chapter, they have the option of taking the astral charges with them to blow up The Void and end the war, sacrificing themselves in the process.

Kepler

Zekei

Zaniah

An engineer and one of Pax's love interests
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Implied, she seems to have been ostracized from people of her tribe due to her unfortunate markings.
  • Parental Abandonment: Her parents abandoned her when she was a baby due to her constellations.
  • Storyboard Body: Her species constellation marks predict their destinies, and hers reflect someone who will cause trouble for everyone around her.
     The Vanguard

Heze

A Vanguard pilot who poisons the Jura’s water sources, and later flees from them. After being severely injured, she is picked up by the Atlas.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Depending on how you see it. Either she was nobly protecting her fellow Vanguards by launching an attack against the Jura, or she was viciously killing Jura members (as well as anyone unfortunate enough to use the same water source as the Jura).

Deimos

A Vanguard commander and one of Eos' love interests

Oberon

Head of Security at Vanguard HQ and one of Eos' love interests. He's also Eos' former partner.

     The Jura

Izar

Artemis/The General

Nova's boss, later revealed to be the Jura commander

     Passengers

Lyra

The empress of Deevine, a Galactic Senator and one of Eos' love interests
  • Actual Pacifist: Her race refuses to practice violence.
  • Elective Monarchy: was elected Empress by her people.
  • King Incognito: Twice over, she’s hiding both the fact that she’s the empress of the Deevine and the senator who helped organize the peace talks.
  • Plant Aliens: Being a Deevine, she’s part plant.

Adara and Leona

  • Drama Queen: Both of them qualify as this. A majority of their scenes revolve around them overreacting over minor issues.
  • Tempting Fate: In Chapter 13, Leona says she can't wait to get out of Matara as soon as possible because she thinks it's a glorified slum. In the next chapter, she and Adara eventually went out because they were fleeing for their lives after the Void attacked the planet.
  • Those Two Girls: They're always seen together being a couple.

Octan

Merope

  • Rich Bitch: Downplayed, but she has a tendency to be dismissive and materialistic.

Rana

Barlow

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Although he originally appears as an ally who wants to stop the war between the Vanguard and the Jura, he is actually a member of the Void.
  • Love-Interest Traitor: Initially portrayed as a love interest, He ends up betraying Nova by capturing Eos, Zekei, and Deimos.
