While the dumb one was only slightly dim at first he was later flanderizationed into being the ditz of the pair. Around late 2016 to early 2017 he mistook a cherry stem for a straw and complained "how it didn't work" and thought his friend was the dumb one and when they talked about "the dumb friend that never gets it" they believe that the smart one is the dumb one and he's being hard on himself.
