Awesome Music / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge

Go To

Shredder, I cross the line like a letter
Smash all of you turtles, put you back together
Indeed, I squish turtles like a tight girdle
Any obstacle, I'll clear it like a high hurdle

My stomach cringes for all you fake ninjas
Fightin' you, I'll win; show you what revenge is
Diabolical moves strike with mad vengeance
Ask Splinter, he knows I'm comin' with bad intentions!

We ain't came to lose!
(We ain't came to lose)
We ain't came to lose!
We ain't came to lose
(We ain't came to lose, yo)
We ain't came to lose!
Ghostface Killah and Raekwon, "We Ain't Came to Lose"

With Tee Lopes of Sonic Mania fame at the helm, and a long legacy to live up to, it's a given that this game would have a killer soundtrack. While we could more-or-less just say "all of it" and call it a day — it's seriously that good — some tracks do stand out.

Base Game

  • The classic opening theme of TMNT returns with all the glory as it sung by none other than Mike Patton himself.
  • "Clash of the Outcasts", the boss theme for the first 14 episodes is a fast-paced, rocking track reminiscent of Turtles in Time's boss music. When the boss gets to half their health, it changes to an epic, fast Near Victory Fanfare that's a remix of the series' theme song.
  • "Big Apple, 3 PM, also used in an earlier form for the game's reveal trailer, carries the same funky vibe as its Turtles in Time namesake.
  • "Mutants Over Broadway", the theme of Episode 3, is a fast-paced Boastful Rap that provides perfect accompaniment to the Turtles chasing Bebop and Rocksteady down the streets of Broadway on their jet boards.
  • "Panic in the Sky", the theme of Episode 8, is a Totally Radical rock tune that will have you absolutely pumped to pummel some Foot Clan ninjas in the skies over NYC. Little wonder, since the vocals are performed by Jonny Atma of GaMetal fame.
  • "Crisis at Coney Island" sounds like something you'd hear in the original TMNT arcade and SNES games.
  • "A Few Screws Loose", the theme of Episode 10, is also the backing track for the incredibly hype Summer Games Fest 2022 trailer that revealed Casey Jones, where it works extremely well.
  • "It Won't Fly!", the theme of Episode 12, has a very nostalgic Konami-esque sound to it that can make one feel like they're playing a 90s arcade game by said company.
  • "Technodrome Redux", the theme of Episode 13, is a fast, high-tech, pumping track that plays as you infiltrate the Technodrome and plow through scores of Foot Ninjas and Rock Soldiers.
  • "Partners in Slime", the theme for the fight against Krang. A rockin' remix of the villain's signature Leitmotif from the original arcade game.
  • "We Ain't Came to Lose", the theme for the fight against Shredder, is Tee Lopes providing backing music to Ghostface Killah and Raekwon as they essentially perform a TMNT vs. Shredder rap battle- what more needs to be said?
  • "Wrath of the Lady", the theme for the fight against the Statue of Tyranny, hilariously and fittingly starts with "The Star-Spangled Banner" modified fearsomely before kicking it into high gear.
  • "A Dish Best Served Cold", which plays during the following fight against Super Shredder, keeps that energy going while also featuring Jonny Atma's sick guitar riffs.

Dimension Shellshock

  • "I 8 a Bit Much", as the title suggests, is one of the themes for the 8-Bit Battleground dimension, and a lively chiptune track that uses the NES soundfont to full effect. The alternate track for this dimension, "Nostalgia Evoking Song", is essentially (to use a semi-apt Sonic analogy) the "Act 2" version of the song.
  • "Dire Horizon", heard in the Dark Tomorrow dimension, is a somewhat-forlorn - but nonetheless rocking - track fitting the Bad Future setting of this dimension. The alternate track, "Rust and Dust", turns up the tempo and amplifies the rock instrumentation to encourage you to push forward in spite of the bleak circumstances.
  • "Ninja Sasanja" plays in the Edo dimension and acts as the theme for Usagi's reveal in the Dimension Shellshock announcement trailer. It's got a distinct sound that fits the time period, and would probably fit right in with a modern Ganbare Goemon game. "Sunset Showdown", the other track used for the Edo dimension, contrasts with "Ninja Sasanja" by using lower notes for the main melody and tagging in some rock instruments (as well as a very Super Nintendo-sounding synth).
  • "Four Red Masks" acts as one of the Mirage dimension's themes, a down-and-dirty rock anthem befitting the hardcore nature of this comic-inspired dimension. "Heroes in Halftone" kicks the track into high gear to create a more heroic-sounding version.
  • If you were wanting more techno-inspired beats akin to "Technodrome Redux" to jam to, look no further than the tracks for Omnichannel 6, the fast-paced "Believable Source" and the trippy "Artificial Facts".
  • Survival Mode's rematch with a crystal-charged Super Shredder is backed by "Bloody Shards of Doom", a grandiose, ominous rock theme befitting Shredder's most powerful form yet. It even reprises the opening riff of "A Dish Best Served Cold" for good measure!
