  • In issue #1, In order to fight the giant alien that crashed into New York City, Synch (who is synched with Forge) thinks up a plan and Marvel Girl telepathically conveys it to everyone and, together, they build a giant X-Mecha with Sunfire powering it, a giant X, and a hole that Cyclops can shoot his eyebeams through in the front. Aside from getting it's arm ripped off, it works out splendidly, and is a thrilling indication of what can come from the X-Men’s new power combinations.
  • In Issue #4, Jean shows Nightmare what it means be an Omega Level Telepathic Mutant when he tries to attack the citizens of New York. Nightmare usually gives Doctor Strange a hard time and has even given Loki a fight he had to work to win, but Jean wipes the floor with him and it’s not even close. This isn’t even Jean with the Phoenix Force it’s just Jean and just Jean is enough to utterly take a powerful fear demon with very little effort.
  • Issue #5 is a showcase for Polaris and the magnitude of her skills. Showing her performing highly sophisticated electromagnetic research as Dr.Dane, topics she has a doctorate in, from beating all of the Reavers after they had taken out all of the other X-Men, Lorna really gets a chance to shine.
  • Issue #7’s phenomenal demonstrate of Cyclops’s leadership and his insane precision with his powers, best showcased in this panel.
    • Adding onto the above is Scott’s advocation for himself to join the team in a cutback to the Hellfire Gala.
      Cyclops: I am the X-Men.
      • Justified, because to quote Synch, “Where is the lie?”
    • Speaking of Synch, in the same issue Everett was somehow able to synch Jean’s powers while she was in space. This leads to the Quiet Council deciding to keep on eye on him for Omega class potential.
  • Kate Pryde absolutely demolishing a team of Orchis mooks by her lonesome is an awesome moment - or would be if Kate weren't weeping in grief and rage throughout the whole thing.
