Awesome pages never use spoiler tagging — so beware of unmarked spoilers

  • Spider-Man is seen as enough of a legitimate threat that the Maker went out of his way to put him out of commission, alongside heavy hitters like Thor, Doctor Strange and the Fantastic Four. It speaks volumes just how important of a hero Peter is to any Marvel Universe that a kid from Queens almost getting bitten by a spider risks jeopardizing a Mad Scientist's grand schemes for an entire Alternate Universe.
  • When Wilson Fisk puts pressure on the Bugle to stop investigating the disaster at Stane/Stark headquarters, Jonah proceeds to quit in defiant rage. Ben is given the chance to take Jonah's position as long as he toes the lineā€¦ and he proceeds to quietly join Jonah in the elevator and immediately begin planning on what they're going to do next, together.
  • At the end of issue one, it is revealed that Peter Parker was contacted by Tony Stark and given the spider that was supposed to bite him, plus a specialized suit to conceal his secret identity, Tony explains that he was originally supposed to become a great hero that would inspire others. After talking with his uncle and his wife Peter decides to let the spider bite him, becoming the hero he was always destined to be. What makes this even better is that, this time, Peter has a choice. He decides to become a super-hero after talking with his uncle and his wife because that's simply who Peter, or really anyone who takes up the Spider-Man mantle, is.
    Ben Parker: Wake up...
Mary Jane: And go get 'em, tiger.
  • The last panel of Issue #1 is a surefire way of giving you goosebumps. Throughout the first issue, New York City was portrayed as being cold, snowy, and cloudy. But when Peter finally chooses to accept the spider bite, assuming the destiny the Maker denied him all those years ago, the sun finally breaks through the clouds and shines brightly on NYC. We see Peter suited up as Spider-Man for the first time, symbolizing the return of hope to this version of Earth, as one of the Marvel Universe's greatest heroes has been reborn.
  • Peter (now officially dressed in his classic red and blue suit) and Green Goblin teaming up to take down Bullseye.
