Having an entire galaxy's worth of places to adventure in and explore naturally lends itself to an abundance of amazing moments, both those you make yourself and the ones you get by following quests.

As a moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned!

  • Starfield's galaxy is awesome all on its own. Over a thousand planets to explore, each of them unique in some way, shape, or form, with plenty of smaller things like space stations, asteroid fields, and other spacefaring travelers in-between. It isn't just a world for adventuring, it's a galaxy.
  • Few things are more fun than flying around in zero-gravity and having an all-out gunfight at the same time. Bullets flying from every direction, your own gun pushing you back from the force of it, and the rather haunting sight of your enemies floating in the air upon defeat, it's always an absolute blast.
  • Ship-to-ship combat is intense, frequently difficult, and always rewarding. Few things are more exhilarating than pulling off some amazing maneuvers and taking out a group of enemy ships. It's even better when you join in on an already ongoing fight, which you can frequently turn the tables of and get a reward for helping out.
    • Ship-to-ship combat is great already, but it gets even more fun if you manage to knock out an enemy ship's engines. They're now completely at your mercy, and you can dock with them, board the ship, and take it over.
  • Taking on the Hunter after his attack on the Eye and the Lodge. It's a frantic escape sequence through New Atlantis, forcing you to adapt to a familiar location as a battleground against a functionally invincible enemy. It is actually possible to temporarily take him down, and if you succeed in this, he is noticeably out of breath when he contacts you from space, and is so impressed with you that he gives you a rather decent weapon as a reward. While you don't know his true nature at the time, it's great to look back on this once you know the truth and see that you managed to force a reality-transcending Blood Knight to back down.
  • The final boss fight, especially if you decide to take on both the Hunter and the Emissary. It starts with one of the hardest mandatory space fights in the game, before putting you into an on-foot gauntlet against an army of reanimated Ecliptic soldiers and Starborn. This eventually leads to the direct confrontation between the Hunter and/or Emissary, and if you don't talk your way out of it, it's an utterly brutal boss fight that couples intense gunplay with the disorientation and confusion of constantly hopping between dimensions and locations.
  • New Game Plus gives your character foreknowledge of many events of the game, which results in many of these moments, such as being able to see through and call out people on their plans, but the biggest example of this is being able to inform Vladmir of the Hunter's impending attack. This results in you being able to completely circumvent the death of a companion, which can feel like a gigantic victory to those who were attached to most or all of Constellation.
  • The quest Absolute Power has you steal data and implant a virus from Benjamin Bayu in a facility he owns which will prompt him to ambush your player and confront you about what happened, while he was able to easily scrub the virus before it could do any noticeable harm, he still interrogates you over who asked you to plant it. Although you have the option to give away Estelle Vincent's involvement, you can instead tell Bayu that you planted the virus 100% on your own whim. While Bayu gives you one hour to leave Neon before he places a bounty on you. However, you can return to Neon immediately after leaving with no bounty placed on you, heavily implying that Bayu came to view the player's brazen confession as daring Bayu to arrest him and ultimately decided the risk was not worth taking the bait.
