This time is so beautiful, Cool World~

PRE-DEBUT

GENERAL

  • Wendy's part in the bridge of Happiness is mesmerizing.
  • Getting their first win not even a year after debuting.
  • The fanchants for this performance.
  • Their dance breaks. Yes, every single one of them.
  • Their cover of Stickwitu by Pussycat Dolls performed at K-Con 2015. Not only they sound perfectly fluent, but those harmonies man.
  • Wendy's performance on "King Of Masked Singer".
  • The vocal linenote  showcasing what they can really do. Nicely summed up by one comment:
Youtube user: SM... you have gold in your hands
  • Shall this video be the eternal proof that every single girl in this group can SING. Extra points to Yeri for owning those bass notes.
  • They had the highest ratings ever during 2016's Melon Music Awards. To clarify, their 4 minutes gig had higer ratings than the whole 2016 MAMA Awards.
  • You think a malfunctioning microphone is gonna stop Kang Seulgi from performing? Think again.
  • Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri's solo stages on this show. Especially Wendy spitting some serious bars.
  • Irene and Seulgi performing "Greedy" AKA "Be Natural" 2.0.
  • The tickets for "Red Room", their first concert after three years since debut, sold out in 0.81 seconds. Their company even had to add another date due to high demands from fans.
    • The opening with "Red Dress", especially Yeri's stage outfit reveal.
    • Transforming the concert into a rave party with "Russian Roulette"'s EDM remix.
    • Wendy's parents, who travelled all the way from Canada to see their daughter perform for the first time, witnessed thousands of people chanting her name like a prayer.
      • The fanchants in general. All the Reveluvs probably busted a lung for how hard they were screaming, not to mention the fan event of the last day.
    • The revival of "Be Natural", "Cool Hot Sweet Love" and "Automatic".
    • The fact that they had only ten days to prepare themselves counts as well.
  • Wendy being noticed by Jessie J is all levels of awesome.
  • Wendy and Seulgi on "Fantastic Duo" with Kangta of H.O.T. His proud nod at the end is just the cherry on top.
  • They did "Red Flavor" at 2x speed live at 2017 Dream Concert in Pyeongchang. The track was supposed to play from the chorus, but it started at the beginning of the song and they just rolled with it.
  • They're tied for Most No. 1s on Billboard's World Albums Chart, proving that girl groups can hang out with boy bands and their fans at the top. This is especially impressive because, unlike said boy groups, they have had little promotion in the US.
  • At the beginning of 2018 they (along with WannaOne) got their first daesang (great award), assigned by artists and industry experts who focused solely on how well they did the previous year and the quality of their music. In an environment where big awards are usually given after votes and the groups with most fandom power always win, this is extremely poignant.
  • They were chosen by the government to represent their country in a concert that highlighted the thawing ties between North and South Korea. This gained them the nickname "Nation's Pride" from the public, and they were invited to the Blue House (along with other artists that partecipated to the event) to share their thoughts about the experience.
  • Doubles as funny, but Seulgi manages to sing flawlessly even while drunk.
  • With the release of Power Up they're the first group ever in SM to get an all-kill on all the music charts. Not only that, but they also got more than a dozen perfect all-kills. "Summer Bosses" indeed.
  • Wendy getting to collab with John Legend. Yeah, that John Legend.
  • "Bad Boy" was named best K-Pop song of 2018 by Billboard. They've also been recognised by multiple music critics and news outlets as the most musically interesting K-Pop group, and overall one of the best in the game.
  • They sold out concerts left and right in the U.S. and Canada, so much that a date had to be added in Los Angeles to accomodate the number of people that wanted to see them live. Not only that, but Red Velvet are one of the first girl groups of the K-Pop scene to have a full on tour across North America.note
  • Yeri releasing her self-composed and self-written song, "Dear Diary" via SM's Station project. SM doesn't let their artists branch out like that all that much, which means she must have really impressed the higher ups with the quality of her craft.
  • Singing couldn't possibly be more live than this performance without MR and background music. Just the girls, their voices and heaps of talent.
  • The Reve Festival peaking at n° 1 on iTunes, making them the only K-Pop girl group to have achieved such a feat so far.
  • Billboard picked them as "the best idol group alive", naming "Red Flavor" the second most iconic song of the 2010s. Two days later, "Umpah Umpah" won Song Of The Year at the Asian Artist Awards. A busy two days to say the least.
  • Yeri is the only Korean idol followed on Instagram by Ariana Grande. Talk about being a Promoted Fangirl...
  • Their third solo concert, "La Rouge", had several; to name a few:
    • They opened the concert with "Ice Cream Cake". That is, the tango remix.
    • The girls' solo stages, which perfectly enscapulated each of their strengths. Special mention has to go to Wendy singing "Light Me Up" solo, if only because she changed the lyrics mid-song from "boy" to "girl". She definitely knows the group's fandom demographic based on the way she smirks when the audience screams...
    • "Perfect 10" and "Kingdom Come" finally, finally seeing the light of day.
  • "Psycho" winning on music shows, and even getting the highest scores ever registered on some of them, with absolutely zero promotions. Not only that, after its 7th win, it got the group their first ever Triple Crown. note
  • Bad Boy, Ice Cream Cake, and Dumb Dumb played by a 50 piece orchestra at K-Factor.
  • The girls' vocal prowess. Wendy is inarguably one of the best vocalists of the industry and she rightfully owns the title of main vocalist, something the other members freqently lampshade. That being said, fans, casual listeners and critics alike all agree that the other members could easily fill the main/lead vocalist role were they in any other group.
  • Their Killing Voice episode, the longest at the time of release and a masterclass in vocal performance. Bonus points for them having genuine fun throughout.
