The Eleventh Striker provides examples of:

  • Big Bad: Kazumasa Nakoka is ultimately behind the bombings and is revealed to have a grudge against Kogoro and all the sports fan clubs of the J-League.
  • Big Damn Heroes Hide’s autographed ball comes in handy in the film’s finale when Conan’s Anywhere Ball Dispensing Belt malfunctions.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: Misao Yamamura has a bad feeling about Nakaka that turns out to be right on the money.
  • It's Personal: After learning that the ambulance his young friend Tomofumi was delayed by a mob led by Kogoro, Nakoka was consumed with a murderous thirst for revenge. Unbeknownst to him, the mob was trying to save an old man suffering from heat stroke and thought the ambulance was ignoring them.
  • The Ghost: Yoko Okino for some reason does not show up in person at all, even when her concert appears to be a plot point.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Justified Trope. The real-life soccer players that show up literally have a different character designer, Hiroyuki Notake.
  • Red Herring: Ultimately, there a whopping total of five, but the biggest Red Herring is Tomofumi’s father, Keiichirou Motoura.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Conan dresses Nakoka down when he espouses his ideas on players who cannot play for the full game.
Conan: Nakaoka-san…I heard you said that someone who cannot stand on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes has no qualification to play soccer, but…you’re wrong.
    Nakaoka: What?
Conan: To Tomofumi-kun, whose body was weak and could only stay in a match for a short while…would you say he had no right to play soccer? Even if you could only stand on the pitch for 15 minutes…wouldn’t it be best if you found a way to make the most of it?
  • Tragic Villain: Nakoka suffered a Game-Breaking Injury but found a new lease on life mentoring iII boy Tomofumi, which was robbed from him when Tomofumi died.
