Weslie and the gang are minding their own business when a spaceship appears on the Green Green Grassland, piloted by a rabbit named Wandi. Wandi is worried about the Bitter Gourd King's plot to turn the moon bitter. He drags the goats into space, hoping that they will be able to stop the Bitter Gourd King before the eclipse happens that the he intends to turn the moon bitter on.

The film was uploaded by Pleasant Goat's official YouTube channel here with English subtitles.

Succeeded by Mission Incredible: Adventures on the Dragon's Trail in 2012.

Moon Castle: The Space Adventure contains the following tropes:

  • Anthropomorphic Food: The antagonist is the Bitter Gourd King. Besides his many gourd soldiers, the Gourd King also has minions who are a winter melon, a pumpkin, a cantaloupe, and a watermelon.
  • Batman Can Breathe in Space: The gang has no problems breathing without their spacesuits while on the moon.
  • Bullet Seed: The watermelon boy can shoot watermelon seeds out of his mouth as an attack.
  • Creative Closing Credits: The end credits scroll from right to left and take place in space, where the candy spaceship is depicted passing through various obstacles. Speaking of which, the ship and obstacles are all depicted as 8-bit sprites.
  • Dog Pile of Doom: When the gang fights an army of the Bitter Gourd King's gourd minions, Wolffy, while he is bashing the heads of two of the minions together, is targeted by a bunch of other minions who form a dogpile on him. He jumps out of the dogpile, using the two minions he was already attacking as weapons to push back the other minions.
  • Expressive Mask: The Bitter Gourd King wears a sheet of paper on his face bearing the Chinese symbol "苦", meaning "bitter". This mask does not move for most of the film, but near the end, the mask's mouth moves when he accidentally swallows one of Wolffy's tears of joy and stops being bitter.
  • Fireworks of Victory: The Sweetness Tree forming and enveloping the Bitter Gourd King's mech is accompanied by fireworks in the background. One really has to wonder who's setting off the fireworks or how they would know to set them up; they're on the moon.
  • Gelatinous Encasement: The first thing that happens to the goats' group when they land on the moon - which is depicted in this film as a Level Ate - is that most of them are encased in different giant jelly desserts that happen to be where they land. They all emerge from the jelly desserts with no problem, but not without Weslie freaking out over some small jelly hands - actually Mr. Slowy's - chasing him before it happens.
  • Gelatinous Trampoline: Weslie's gang is chased by some of the Bitter Gourd King's soldiers into the Jelly District, consisting of the ground being made entirely of jelly that the characters bounce on to outrun the soldiers. They reach a cliff in the District that they have to jump extra hard to pass over, but Wilie jumps on everyone else as they're in the air, sending them flying into a wall and falling to the ground below.
  • Heel–Face Turn: The Bitter Gourd King is transformed out of his evil state after his battle with the goats and wolves.
  • Holding Hands: Wolffy and Wolnie hold hands as they and the others prepare to jump across a cliff to escape from some of the Bitter Gourd King's minions.
  • In Space, Everyone Can See Your Face: The goats' faces are clearly visible through their space helmets.
  • Level Ate: The moon is shown to be a world filled with lots of candy and sweet foods such as lollipops, cotton candy, jelly, etc.
  • Living Dinosaurs: One of the locations Wandi teleports Weslie to is the top of a T. rex's head, the dino being in Dino Canyon.
  • Meaningful Appearance: The Bitter Gourd King wears a sheet of paper on his face bearing the Chinese symbol "苦", meaning "bitter".
  • Mooks: Besides the four Super Gourd Shock Troopers, the Bitter Gourd King has numerous bitter gourd soldiers that do his bidding. The bitter gourd soldiers wear paper masks bearing the Chinese character "兵", meaning "soldier".
  • Moon Rabbit: The gang meets Queen Luna, a rabbit who is the queen of the moon. Her brother Wandi helps them throughout their adventure.
  • Pregnant Badass: Despite being pregnant, Wolnie teaches the others how to use frying pans with no problem and is still able to hold her own in combat during the fight with the Bitter Gourd King and his minions.
  • Pumpkin Person: One of the Bitter Gourd King's gourd minions is a pumpkin man who, fittingly enough, has a pumpkin head.
  • Rabbit Magician: Wandi is a Moon Rabbit who is practicing his magic skills. Among a few other magic powers, he can change his own appearance and use his hat to teleport himself and others to another location.
  • Rolling Attack: Weslie is chased by a melon trooper, who rolls around in an attempt to attack him. Weslie manages to dodge the attack when the melon rolls onto the edge of a cliff which crumbles and falls.
  • Shout-Out: Sparky's cry of "Beckham's goal kick!" as he attempts to kick a melon trooper is a reference to Bend It Like Beckham.
  • Space Episode: This film focuses on the goats going into space, specifically to the moon to prevent the Bitter Gourd King from making it bitter.
  • Space Is Noisy: Weslie and Wolffy are accidentally sent outside of the candy spaceship and into space. They can still talk perfectly fine while in space.
  • Stellar Name: The queen of the moon is named Queen Luna.
  • Surprise Multiple Birth: Wolnie spends most of the film pregnant. Near the end, when she gives birth, Wolffy helps her deliver the baby and then notices there are more than one, counting to four on his hand and screaming "How is this possible?!".
  • Total Eclipse of the Plot: The Bitter Gourd King plans to turn the moon bitter. He waits for a lunar eclipse to do so since that's the moon's weakest moment.
  • Weird Moon: The moon as seen here is a world filled with candy and sweets.
  • White Bunny: Both Wandi and his sister Queen Luna are white rabbits.
