Infinity Nado (战斗王之飓风战魂) is a Chinese animated series that debuted in 2012, meant to advertise a series of toy tops that are similar to the Beyblade toys.

In the series, a boy named Jin, alongside his friends Dawn and Cecilia, faces a number of threats by having Infinity Nado duels with them, Infinity Nados being small toy tops with elemental powers and spirits contained within.

Infinity Nado contains the following tropes:

  • Animesque: Granted, a lot of Chinese animation has shades of animesque elements in them, but Infinity Nado in particular is one of the ones that has a more animesque art style and animation style, to the point where one would be forgiven for mistaking it for an actual Japanese series.
  • Battle Tops: Not unlike Beyblade, you have the Infinity Nados which can be assembled from a few pieces.
  • Chromatic Arrangement: Jin is primarily blue, Dawn wears red clothing due to his element, and Cecilia wears green.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Jin has blue eyes and blue hair.
  • Denser and Wackier: The two few seasons are quite serious with the main characters fighting gods to prevent the end of the world, however season 3 gets a more cartoonish style and more comedic moments while trying to solve a mystery to save the world.
  • Dub Name Change:
    • Ye Feng (叶枫) to Jin.
    • Ren Yan (任炎) to Dawn.
    • Lan Ruobing (蓝 若冰) to Cecilia.
    • Pandora didn't get a name change, as his name is easy to pronounce in multiple languages, however his disguise of Duō lǎng in season 3 is briefly translated into "Dodd" in the international translations.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Pandora is typically a female name, but is applied to a male character here.
  • Meaningful Name: Jin's Chinese name, Ye Feng, literally translates to "leaf in the breeze". Sure enough, he's an air elemental.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: One of the villains faced in Season 1 is not only named Death, but dresses like The Grim Reaper, complete with a scythe. He's also very powerful, producing a twister that can immediately knock out Infinity Nados if they're sucked into it. Hope y'all have a powerful Infinity Nado ready for him...
  • Reset Button: Season 2 ends with Pandora restarting the world where Jin and his friends are brought back in the new world without any of their memories And season 3 starts with Jin meeting up with his friends to give their memories back.
  • Riding into the Sunset: Most of the season finales has this considering its Wild West-inspired environment.
  • She's a Man in Japan: Pandora, a feminine-looking male in the Chinese version, is changed to a female or outright genderless with no pronouns in a number of international versions.
  • Significant Birth Date: Dawn's birthday is August 17th, which would make his Western Zodiac sign Leo, the lion. Leo is a fire symbol, which fits Dawn because his Infinity Nado powers involve Playing with Fire.
  • Spit Take: In Season 3 episode 2, Eli is surprised to hear Chase mentioning going to find Cecilia, a well-respected Infinity Nado battler he likes, and spits the water he was drinking onto Dawn.
