Batty Lip Burbling
While insanity is not always something to laugh at, the kind of madness that leads to someone batting at one's own lips is usually the kind that is Played for Laughs. Characters batting at their own lips is used as a punch-line, requiring a set-up (characters being taken-aback by something irrational or surreal) for them to work off of (motorboating themselves the only kind of reaction they can give, responding to strangeness with more strangeness).
Defeat By Transformation
Some conflicts are inevitable, but not all of them can be won through force alone. Perhaps your opponent is too strong to be fought, too dangerous to be conventionally captured, or has an army at their back; maybe you honestly don't want to hurt or kill them — not necessarily out of genuine mercy; or maybe this is a G-Rated work where death or serious harm is out of the question.
Whatever the case, the best path to victory in this case is simply to transform the enemy into something harmless.
