Part Nine: CAN'T LET YOU DO THAT, STAR FOX!

Let's recap... in SONG!: Sayaka's a witch~, Homura's such a bitch~. I really hate her, why do people ship her~? {stops song} Okay, that's all. Let's finish this arc.

So we open with the birth of the first Witch that doesn't go down in one hit: Oktavia Von Seckendroff. Who looks so badass. Just think of this: Mermaid Knight. That alone is badass. Homura pops by and saves Kyouko. They break out of the barrier and Homura explains what is going on. Yes, Magical Girls turn into Witches. Homura had just stooped down to Kyubey's level and held off information until it's too late. Sure, she tried it in the third-timeline but the one thing holding the plan of revealing the truth got her head bitten off six chapters ago. Besides, it wouldn't work in this timeline because she went for the antagonist route. If she had got along with Mami and Sayaka like Madoka asked, none of this would have happened. But no, she ignored Madoka's plea and here we are. I'm glad you're happy, Trollmura, because you just made your one and only goal cry. Which you tried to prevent. I agree with Kyouko, is she even fucking human?

So Kyubey goes back to Madoka, and those eyes continue to convince me that I shouldn't read his lines in Kagami's voice but rather Void's or Lelouch's. That or Al's voice because he explains about a scientific law... Oh dear God, I think I found a good idea for Kyubey's English voice actor... So anyways, he explains to Madoka about the First Second Law of Equivalent Exchange Thermodynamics, which is pretty much "things aren't in equilibrium" and the Incubators managed to find something that might keep it in balance: Puella Magi. Or rather emotions. So... Why haven't the Incubators formed a company that makes nothing but emotion creating works? Oh wait, I think they did. Or perhaps they had a deal with some people in the Sanzu River to invoke emotions. But whose to say they haven't created monsters made of coins made of desire? Oh, and we get a Really Dead Montage of Sayaka as he explains that teenage girls are preferable due to how emotional they are. Again, Madoka looks so different. Madoka gives a What the Hell, Hero? speech to Kyubey. He then pulls the "I don't know what trick means because I lack emotion" and the "What's one life among thousands" cards. Kyubey... if you keep talking, this time I'll shut you up. Now Kyubey's made himself a bigger asshole than Homura and Kyouko put together.

Let's move on to an even more creepier scene. Kyouko keeping Sayaka's body warm. I Love the Dead much? So she asks Kyubey if there is a way to get Sayaka's Soul Gem back, but he knows of no way. Kyouko calls bullshit and leaves. Kyouko goes and talks to Madoka about saving Sayaka. She thinks that if a friend contacted her, then she may return to her human form. Okay, why pick Madoka then? You obviously know Kyousuke might make a better connection. What An Idiot? So Kyouko thinks that by cutting the Witch in half, they will get the soul gem and retrieve her. Uh... I'm pretty sure if it happened, a lot more Puella Magi would be saved. Hell, I think if that was possible, Sayaka would have found a Soul Gem inside Elsa Maria as she was cutting her up. Kyouko recalls the reason why she became a Puella Magi in the first place. Because love and courage conquers all... Yeah, ask the last people who had their stories written by Urobuchi how well love and courage conquered. Also, didn't you become a Puella Magi because you're a little hungry? So they introduce each other in their own way as they depart to kick Octavia's ass.

Madoka asks if Homura could help. Yeah, she can "help" alright, just ask her how well she tried to "help" Sayaka. Kyouko tells her not to call Homura and instead exposit on Walpurgisnacht. Madoka whines on how she's weak and Kyouko tells her to shut up about it and tells her not to take her life for granted. I would say it's an asshole move, but because of her back-story, the fact that being a Puella Magi is not all fun and games, and that Kyubey took the cake for most unlikable character ever, I support Kyouko.

And so the fight with Octavia begins! They try talking to the Witch... which works as well as you think it would. In the words of a man with a red tie and a beret... FAIL! Yeah, Sayaka is paying Kyouko back for the fighting... Oh, and for suggesting that she should break Kyousuke's legs and arms. That too. And then... something weird happens... According to the art... Kyouko is right. Yeah, inside the Witch is Sayaka's true self. ...Okay... Then Octavia grabs Madoka and Kyouko runs off to save her and yells at Sayaka about not making people happy with her power... Then she gets stabbed by Octavia's sword. Through the stomach. Pwned. Now, seeing as Kyouko is gonna be Killed Off for Real via a stab in the gut and that she uses a jewel as her last move, I feel this song is appropriate. Kyouko asks God to show her a happy dream. Homura pops in to only save Madoka but is too late for Kyouko. Who is standing on her own pretty well despite being stabbed through the gut. She tells them to get out as she holds off Octavia and uses her Soul Gem to blow Octavia to hell, taking herself with it. We then see Sayaka sitting as Kyouko pops by and gives her some candy. Instead, Sayaka takes her hand. The two are Together in Death...

It's a terrible day for rain... {puts a hat on to hide his crying eyes, though a stream of tears falls down his cheeks}

Fuck, I didn't expect to cry, but the combination of the death and the music I put on got me in the mood. Moving on to Homura's lair, Homura asks Kyubey if Kyouko did have any hope for saving Sayaka. His response is tilting his head and pretty much saying "Lol, no!" I chuckled and made the tilt my avatar. He pretty much tells Homura that he did indeed tell the truth, just that Kyouko was just that naive about saving Sayaka. He allows Kyouko to kill herself so that Homura will face Walpurgisnacht alone, which is impossible, thus forcing Madoka to contract with him, further making him a hypocrite. What does Homura say to that?

"I WON'T LET YOU DO THAT, KYUBEY!" And the longest arc in Madoka Magica ends there. Oh goodie, my Kyubey plushie came. Time to torment it. Next time, we see Homura's fall to darkness.

You could read Kyubey's lines as one of the Ageha Squads, they're both evil and voiced by the same person.

Only difference is that Kyubey's doing the manipulating and has a thing for thermodynamics.
