Once he manages that goal, he starts having those that don't fit into his "perfect" world detained by a private police/military force. Much of the resistance against him comes in the form of teenagers and young adults, who are dismissed or outright hated by older people for daring to step out of line. The first book was released in 2009, but it feels eerily prescient of the political climate of the late 2010's.
