* CrossesTheLineTwice: In the Season 2 playthrough of ''The Walking Dead'', Pat jokes about having Clementine punching a pregnant woman so hard in the stomach that the baby flies out, which he will use to distract nearby zombies. Also, taking the joke further, he says the baby will actually be glad to be out of her womb, referring to her as a "bitch".

** After the November Nintendo Direct came out featuring all characters from ''Super Smash Bros.'' A month and a half later, the guys have decided to end the Super Best Friends brand.

** During their playthrough of ''VideoGame/SuperMarioOdyssey'', Matt early on makes a ''Franchise/DarkSouls'' joke before it was then announced to be ported over to the switch.

** ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' fans were not happy when Woolie revealed he dismissed ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamIronBloodedOrphans'' after only two episodes because he felt it was becoming just another ''Anime/GundamSeed'' and criticizing the show for being "kiddy". Fans of the former agree that it's one of the darker settings Gundam has had, especially with a certain scene in the third episode.

* MostWonderfulSound:

* FlameBait: Some of the comments on Matt's solo No More Heroes playthrough have begun to complain about how Matt repeatedly brings up the fact that he helped work on this game as a tester, which [[ComicallyMissingThePoint is arguably one of the points of the playthrough]], that Matt is proud of his time working on the title and has a lot of stories about doing so. That he brings them up with a line about 'when I worked on this' ''has'' to be expected. Funny considering that when he brings up similar stories about Deus Ex, nobody bats an eyelash.
** The Best Friends took a rather unfair set of questions regarding Warhammer 40K as this during episode 150 of the Superbestfriendscast, borderline calling out a fan who asked them a set of a questions, including 'whether they cared' based on a set of offhand remarks made during their Revengeance playthrough; Pat and Liam in particular took exception to the notion that they are not fans because they only enjoy the setting on a casual basis.

* UnpleasableFanbase: Their LP of ''VideoGame/GodOfWarPS4'' was a particularly stark example. When Pat strayed off the main path to explore the game's open world and complete side quests, the comment section filled with complaints about the lack of progress on the game's main plot. But when Pat focused on the main plot (and when he completed some especially grind-y side quests completely off-camera), the comment section filled with complaints about all the exploration and interesting side quests Pat was ignoring.

** Liam has currently taken over the place as the most disliked friend for a number of reasons: originally when he was introduced, people enjoyed him for his high skill level, hilarious speaking patterns and obviously false egotism, and his ability to inject life into conversations by playing devils advocate sometimes so that all the convo's aren't one-sided, all three of which began in his introduction in Metroid Fusion where he did a pretty bang-up job of playing the game. Recently, however, with the advent of Super Despair Girls, MGSV, AND Star Fox Adventures, the audience has begun to dislike Liam for these same reasons: his high skill level leads to large levels of overconfidence, which in turn causes him to ignore game mechanics ''in the game he's playing'' as it's "beneath" him, like the timed attacks in Mario RPG. His false egotism has now been replaced with actual egotism, and many fans have begun to point out his constant narcissism as unfunny and kind of rude. Lastly, his constant devil's advocate playing has gone to levels where it's obvious that he actually ''hates'' the thing he's advocating for, but chooses to anyways because he thinks it will lead to a more interesting conversation, when not every conversation needs to be an argument. Overall, Liam's biggest flaws have become front and centre when he's at the helm of the majority of the LP's on the channel, perhaps the biggest of which are in the MGSV LP.

** Between them and the WebVideo/GameGrumps. Every so often, you'll find comments comparing the two, or outright accusing [=TBFP=] of ripping the Game Grumps off (despite [=TBFP=] [[CriticalResearchFailure predating Game Grumps by a year]]). Nevertheless, Jon of Game Grumps has admitted he was inspired by [=TBFP=] to make a two person show revolving video games. While Pat has [[https://www.facebook.com/tbfprulz/posts/473024186044052 expressed disappointment in Game Grumps]], both Matt and Pat are fans of Creator/{{Egoraptor}}, referencing his ''[[WebAnimation/AwesomeSeries Metal Gear Awesome]]'' and ''WebAnimation/GirlchanInParadise'' series on occasion. Regardless, the two groups seem to be on good terms, as evidenced in their 2013 E3 videos. * AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Pat and Woolie theorize during the ''VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureEyesOfHeaven'' playthrough that the entirety of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' has been a journey of sexual self-discovery for Creator/HirohikoAraki, going from huge {{Bara|Genre}} types to more waif-ish {{Bishonen}} types over time, with a brief dalience towards LesYay during Stone Ocean. Their reaction to this realization is absolutely priceless.

** Woolie and Pat's VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic playthrough, due to Woolie's lack of progress, tendency to wander, and being repeatedly SidetrackedByTheGoldSaucer. It eventually ended after ''[[ArchivePanic 99 parts and 51 hours of footage]]''[[note]](As the majority of episodes are half an hour long, some fans opt to cut the hour-long debut episode in half to count the playthrough at exactly 100 episodes total)[[/note]], making it the longest playthrough of any game in the history of the Super Best Friends.

This led to the usual line-up of jokes such as "God of Snail", as well as the more LP-relevant "Side quest go up, but main quest go ''down''"[[note]]A reference to Pat's obsessive min-maxing of the Strength stat, to the point where he passes up decent equipment because they make Strength go down[[/note]]. ** As of 2017, Pat has ended up becoming the most-popular host on the channel according to popularity polls. Most attribute this to him being the most likely to pay attention to a game as well as putting in off-camera effort to improve, while Woolie only shows a normal amount of effort and Matt will frequently start resisting trying if he feels like it.

** ''VideoGame/MarlowBriggsAndTheMaskOfDeath'' quickly won Pat, Woolie and Liam over (Matt had tried it the day before, he was already impressed). A ''VideoGame/GodOfWar'' clone that runs on RuleOfCool. Almost every video afterwards has comments begging for a full play through.

** The ''[[VideoGame/OmikronTheNomadSoul Omikron]]'' playthrough is undoubtedly one of [[SoBadItsHorrible the hardest games]] for the Zaibatsu to get through. Despite this, the Friends seem to like Soks, the FunnyRobot that handles the Awakened's weapons. In a game filled with [[WhatTheHellIsThatAccent terrible accents]] and [[OffModel shoddy character models]], Soks is the only character with a unique design and a [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} somewhat humorous personality]] (even if, as Woolie points out, he's pretty clearly an {{Expy}} of [[Franchise/StarWars C-3PO]]). The fact that [[HyperCompetentSidekick he helps the Nomad Soul discover]] [[TheMole the traitor]] in the Awakened's ranks and his voice actor is [[TookTheBadFilmSeriously giving one of the better performances]] also helps.

** In their playthrough of F.E.A.R. 2 during the Shitstorm of Scariness, they make a comment about how the characters in the game's intro resemble the cast of the movie ''Alien'' and Matt makes a joke saying something along the lines of "wait until ''Aliens: Colonial Marines'' turns out to be not so great." Fast forward months later and said game is subject to multiple poor review scores and and considered one of the biggest gaming disappointments of early 2013.
