* SeinfeldIsUnfunny: WWE had spent the Attitude Era putting the title on pretty women with no real wrestling ability, so it came as no surprise when they put it on Trish in late 2001 (after she had only been in the company just under two years). However the surprise was that Trish worked hard to properly improve and produce good matches. These days the idea of a model-turned-wrestler is nothing new (given WWE's past hiring practices) - but Trish actually evolving from valet to wrestler on screen was a huge idea at the time. Likewise she was also involved in matches and feuds that were actually getting time. The matches she had with Jazz, Molly Holly, Victoria and Lita are clearly the inspiration for products like ''SHIMMER''. While those matches now pale in comparison to the ''SHIMMER'' women, it was them that proved American crowds ''did'' want to see women actually wrestle.

As fans remember, Cena had a quite-obvious...erectile issue during the [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments entirety of the match]], to the point where even the commentators were audibly stifling their laughter whenever Cena (and his package) was shown close-up on camera. Apparently, Trish is that gorgeous in person.
** And now, seven years after her retirement match, she '''finally''' becomes an inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.
** Her entire career arc. Going from one of the endless parade of useless eye candy {{Smart Mark}}s hate, to being inducted into the Hall of Fame as one of the greatest of all time of either gender.

Even after they started to get along, Trish did not seem particularly grateful for Mickie helping her out against MNM or eliminating herself to ensure Victoria did not win the title in a battle royal. When Mickie earned herself a title shot, Trish was also the less friendly of the two during the defense. The long term plan was to turn one of the women heel and have the feud but "creative" couldn't settle on who it would be, so the idea was to leave hints for both of them until they could come to a decision. Thing is, Mickie didn't do anything wrong until she started getting jealous of Ashley, not long before her full on turn. Trish had been dropping hints since ''day two'' of the angle. If there had been a more even portrayal throughout the angle, the crowd might not have completely turned on Trish at Wrestlemania. Probably also not helped by it being something of a RecycledScript of a storyline between Sable and Tori - which had the fan as the face and the champ as the heel.

** While not as unpopular by then, giving a former model who did not work on the independent scene or go through developmental the title after the Wrestling/{{Chyna}}, who was known for beating up men and having her go over Wrestling/{{Jacqueline}}, Wrestling/{{Lita}}, Wrestling/{{Ivory}}, Wrestling/MollyHolly and [[Wrestling/CarleneMoore Jazz]], all of whom were notable prior to their WWE careers was seen by the dirt sheets as a sure sign WWE had picked looks over ability. However, as her title reign chugged along it was noted Trish had seriously stepped her game up, the women's division dodging a bullet because of it.

** How about when she found out Wrestling/ChrisJericho made a bet to sleep with her? Good lord she was a convincing crier.

Trish was used to get heels over (Molly, Victoria, Jazz, failed with Jackie Gayda) but no other faces were really built up besides her, so it was three years of heels beating Trish, rampaging nigh unopposed until Trish got it together and found a way to beat them, then another heel beating Trish and starting the process all over. WWE did have plans to push Lita but she struggled with injuries, Jacqueline got to pin a few heels but never for the title after this point and Ivory's push was derailed by Gail, who did debut as a face champion but lost to Molly and became her heel lackey. There was finally a change of pace after Victoria turned face and legitimately got to be the [[AccidentalPun face]] of the division but by then, a new problem was on the horizon ([[PlotTumor the second divasearch]]).

** Rikishi giving her the Stinkface. He later said on ''WWE Confidential'' that he thought it was his best-ever Stinkface because the camera angle behind him made it look like Trish's entire head was up his butt.

* FranchiseOriginalSin: Shares this distinction with Wrestling/{{Sable}}. Trish was the first of the eye candy models to become a respectable wrestler and get over big with the fans. The reason behind that was that Trish was willing to take the hard bumps (something which Sable had specified in her contract that she would never do) and put the effort into training to become a proper wrestler, but the WWE and other companies attempts to recreate her focused more on the eye candy part and less on finding women who were willing to put the effort into becoming wrestlers or had the talent to even try, leading to a lot of terrible wrestlers being pushed as the next Trish Stratus.

** Her farewell match at ''Unforgiven 2006''. The image on this page is from the post-match bows she took that night, to a standing ovation.

* FranchiseOriginalSin: Shares this distinction with Wrestling/{{Sable}} Trish was the first of the eye candy models to become a respectable wrestler and get over big with the fans. The reason behind that was that Trish was willing to take the hard bumps (something which Sable had specified in her contract that she would never do) and put the effort into training to become a proper wrestler, but the WWE and other companies attempts to recreate her focused more on the eye candy part and less on finding women who were willing to put the effort into becoming wrestlers or had the talent to even try, leading to a lot of terrible wrestlers being pushed as the next Trish Stratus.

** Her retirement match deserves special mention, despite wrestling tradition dictating that you're supposed to lose your last match. Pro wrestling is notorious for leaving behind a lot of wounded egos, hurt feelings, and grudges held in its wake. This is especially true for female wrestlers (Luna Vachon, Molly Holly). Despite this, Trish has said that her entire final match was pretty much her perfect dream match to go out on (In a later interview she said it felt like she wrote out her perfect dream match, which was then rubber-stamped without a single change made.)

* FranchiseOriginalSin: Trish was the first of the eye candy models to become a respectable wrestler despite lacking any kind of talent or experience. Valentina, April Hunter, even Nidia who did not like Trish, had good things to say about her but some see her as the root cause for the weakening of the women's division, especially since her first title reign came right after Chyna's and she went over Molly Holly, Ivory, Jacqueline, Lita and Jazz, all notable prior to their debuts in WWF. The original sin was really Sable but because Trish became more respected by her coworkers and more popular with audiences so she was cited when WWE continued to push inexperienced women who failed to emulate her success.

* CreatorsPet[=/=]ProtectionFromEditors: There was a time where she either had the title or would be getting shots week after week on ''Raw.'' She got to retire as Champion, violating wrestling tradition. She had ''the head writer'' induct her into the WWE Hall of Fame.

* {{Designated Hero}}ine: Her first title win really came out of nowhere, as she hadn't been competing much on TV and hadn't even had a [=PPV=] match since ''[=InVasion=]'' in July.

* [[SugarWiki/FunnyMoments Crowning Moment of Funny]]: During the StalkerWithACrush angle with Mickie James, toward its zenith, Mickie had started dressing like Trish. This causes Trish to come out, dressed like Mickie, and does an entire promo with a pretty hilarious Mickie James impersonation.

* CreatorsPet: There is simply no getting around the fact that she got pushed harder over everyone else, including getting to break tradition by retiring as Champion. She even had ''the head of "Creative" herself'', [[Wrestling/StephanieMcMahon Stephanie [=McMahon=]]] induct her into the WWE HOF. It's intellectually dishonest to even suggest otherwise.

** However, it was played as ''weird'' and ''disturbing'' at the time, in re Mickie's apparent SanitySlippage. Wrestling/JerryLawler said, "It's like [[BizarroUniverse Bizarro World]]." Wrestling/JoeyStyles said, "It's like ''Raw'' has entered ''SeriesTheTwilightZone.''"
