** When the past relationship of King and Diane is revealed in King's backstory, some found it to be rather squicky and looking like WifeHusbandry due to the fact that he's technically older than her, and that she has the appearance and the personality of a very young child. This is a bit of [[DoubleStandard a contrast]] compared to the case with King's sister Elaine as the fact that King is being also presented as a child due to his fairy form is disregarded. Furthering the contrast abit is that King's present relationship with Diane is found by some to be okay even though it is technically a complete reversal of their past with him being a child due to [[TheAgeless his agelessness]] and her being an older looking woman, a thing that also technically happens to be the gender reversal of Elaine and Ban's case.

** Gilthunder deciding to [[DisproportionateRetribution ruin a village's economy by stopping the water flow which would've eventually led to the population dying of thirst just because he found their ale not very good]]. Turns out this was [simply part of his {{Jerkass}} cover; not only did Gilthunder actually love the ale, but he knew from the start that this act would invoke this trope, thereby keeping Hendricksen and Vivian convinced that he was on their side.

* FanPreferredCouple: Some argue that Jericho deserves a break for all the trouble that she goes through for Ban and have her love rewarded by the guy, despite Ban and practically every other character having already said that he will ''only'' have eyes for Elaine. The number of times that Jericho has fumed with frustration every time she hears from Ban's mouth that he will do anything for Elaine counts as a few [[KickTheDog blows to her self-esteem]] since she would like it if Ban spoke that way about her too. Some fans want her to "win" even more after she successfully kept both Ban AND Elaine alive while running away from ''two'' of the Ten Commandments, even unknowingly leading them to their demise by having them run into [[{{Badass}} Escanor]]. After the danger has passed, she even accepts Elaine as a friend despite the revived fairy trying to kill her before; providing her the speech necessary to snap Elaine out of her temporary madness. Since he's the embodiment of "greed", couldn't Ban have both Elaine AND Jericho, thus making both girls happy?

* CrazyAwesome: While not nearly as much as the mangaka's previous ''Manga/KongohBancho'' as of yet. The world is filled with warriors capable of causing the ground to shatter beneath them, even a {{Mook}} can easily cut down an entire forest with ease. Ban and Melidolas for example destroy the tower they're in an arm wrestling match.

* MemeticMutation: Using the VideoGame/DarkSouls often quoted phrase "Praise the Sin!" in regards to Escanor who has [[PowerOfTheSun sun based powers]]. It's especially used when he's in his terrifyingly overpowered muscular day form and about to pretty much completely rekt those foolish enough to face him.

** [[spoiler: Gloxinia]] a.k.a. [[FanNickname Octololi]] of the Ten Commandments. Due to appearance and use of feminine JapanesePronouns, alot of people assumed for the longest time this character was a girl. Then he's actual gender is revealed along with the fact that he's actually a [[spoiler: [[StealthPun fairy]].]]

** Jericho. An AttentionWhore GloryHound who simply can't catch a break. Her brother thinks she shouldn't be a Holy Knight [[StayInTheKitchen because she is a woman.]] Her friend Guila [[spoiler:joins the Sins and Jericho doesn't understand why.]] And finally, the power that was supposed to prove her brother wrong [[spoiler:turns her into a horrible monster that almost killed him.]] She later loses the "Jerk" part after CharacterDevelopment but steps into TheWoobie territory when time and again she's reminded by Ban and others that [[spoiler:his love for Elaine is so strong that she will never have a chance in hell at winning the guy's heart. Despite this, she still keeps trying to get him to notice her, even if it's just a little.]]

** Helbram attacking the village and putting civilians in danger. His justification? "We need to make the Sins the villains for us being the heroes". Prior to that he said that his dead subordinates (who were giving him power) weren't a big deal because WeHaveReserves. No wonder why [[spoiler: Guila put a HeelFaceTurn at the end of the chapter.]]

*** Their reunion in Chapter 142 is sweet and they even [[spoiler:kiss. Too bad Elaine was revived with dark magic and Ban was bleeding profusely from the mouth. The fact that they continue to make out with one another, despite Jericho being three feet away from them, counts as a KickTheDog moment to her and Jericho's fans.]]

* BrokenBase: When it was revealed that the anime version of Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins would be handled by Creator/A1Pictures, opinions were split considering their track record regarding a number of their previous [[Manga/MagiLabyrinthOfMagic anime]] [[LightNovel/SwordArtOnline adaptations]]. Said BrokenBase has only gotten more heated due to [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks certain changes made that don't follow the manga]].

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Out of all the Sins, Ban and King are by far the most loved for their backstories, powers, and interactions. Shown in the first official poll where King was first place and Ban came second. Coincidentally they're also the only Sins whose backstories have been explored at this point (in stand-alone chapters no less); not even Meliodas' has been elaborated on as much.
** On the villains' side, Hendricksen and Helbram are both quite favored, having placed in fourth and ninth place of the poll respectively. In fact, they're the only antagonists who made the Top Ten rankings.

* CrazyAwesome: While not nearly as much as the mangaka's previous KongohBancho as of yet. * DudeNotFunny: There are people who consider Meliodas' bouts of sexual harassment at times a bit too distasteful rather than just plain {{ecchi}} related humor.

* MemeticBadass: After [[WhamEpisode Chapter]][[CrowningMomentofAwesome 124]], several people are saying that DREFYUS IS A BRO!

* CompleteMonster: From the Manga, [[BigBad Great Holy Knight Hendricksen]] is one of the two great Holy Knights of the Kingdom of Liones. Unlike his partner Dreyfuss, with whom he has overthrown the King and seized control of the nation, Hendricksen seeks to free the Demon Clan from bondage and plunge the world into a bloody war. Using the blood of a captive demon, Hendricksen mystically empowers trainee knights with a 50/50 success rate. The failures simply explode into blood and gore. When the heroic Deadly Sins, led by Meliodas, attack the kingdom, it is revealed Hendricksen participated in the murder of his and Dreyfuss's predecessor Zaratras and Hendricksen has enslaved Zaratras's son Gilthunder by using an invisible monster to threaten the life of Gil's beloved. Hendricksen proceeds to force every demon tainted knight to transform into horrible monsters by awakening the blood inside them, having them rampage and destroy anyone and anything in their path while he uses the princesses as hostages to deal critical injuries to Meliodas and Gilthunder, telling [[StalkerWithACrush Gil's admirer Vivian]] he'll revive Gil as an obedient corpse for her. If this wasn't enough, Hendricksen revives his slain [[TheDragon right-hand fairy Helbram]] as a mindless corpse and mocks Helbram's former best friend King about how he can have the pleasure of killing his best friend again as King suffers a mental breakdown.
