The "Shana and Miranda" example contradicts itself, as despite having poor physical attacks, they're the best healers in the game and are listed in the Game Breaker entry.

* TierInducedScrappy:
** Kongol. Slow as all get out, has the magic defense of a wet paper bag, and only has three additions, with the first two giving ridiculously small amounts of SP, making it an absolute ''chore'' to get his Dragoon levels up. Additionally, his final addition has a pitiful 300% modifier, the weakest of any final addition in the game and holding back his ungodly physical might. With his slow speed, other characters like Meru or Haschel will end up outdamaging him.
** Shana and Miranda. While the two undoubtedly have the best dragon attack in the game, can keep the party alive through ''anything'', and can waste enemies once they get the Psyche Bomb X, they do pitiful damage because they lack additions. Their only gimmick is that they can be almost permanently in dragoon form; as their attacks lack additions, their SP is delivered in one bulk package, and it's a higher amount than most additions in the game making it very easy to accumulate levels. However, [[GameBreaker magic is overpowered in this game]] and they have the best magic attack stats, beating 2nd place Meru by nearly 50%.

** Proper usage of Item Magic and Dragoon magic alongside magic improving items can blow through the bosses in the game by easily reaching 6000 or 9999 damage. Shana/Miranda and Meru can easily waste most boss battles with this. Combined with a turbo controller, even early game item magic can tear through even late game bosses.

Most fans would rather use Meru because she's faster and takes way less work to get going, whereas Shana and Miranda only pay off late in the game, and Shana lags behind ''horribly'' in the early game.

** The Grand Jewel can also count. It can mess with your character's levels, changing them by 5 at a time, and it loves to lower your level multiple times in a row before actually increasing them. And it's even worse if you've gotten into the habit of getting as much of your transformation gauge filled as possible before using the Special command (all characters take on their Dragoon forms); doing that will make him use the Dragon Block Staff, which makes your Dragoon forms pathetically weak.

More often than not the characters can often deal more damage with their base physical attacks or even basic magic items than with their dragon additions/spells. Early game the characters will often want to grind additions more than transforming into a Dragoon and transforming into a Dragoon against late game bosses is almost suicidal thanks to several having some counter to the Dragoon form.[[note]]The [[WeaponOfXSlaying Dragon Buster]] sword or [[PowerNullifier Dragon Block Staff]][[/note]] In the end this only leaves a few mid-game bosses that are worth using the Dragoon form on and, even then, it's used more so for healing/when you run out of item magic more often than not. The only real exception is Meru who, thanks to having several damaging spells that also heal the party, is often the one who will end up transforming into a Dragoon for the sake of healing the party and getting some damage in at the same time.

** Perhaps the shining moment comes at the ending, wherein the voice actors all speak with DullSurprise, the LipLock is ''hideously'' obvious, [[spoiler: Melbu Frahma sounds like he's taking a crap as he tries to give one last attack]], but most hilariously of all is [[spoiler: Dart getting shocked... and Shana gives a ''very'' unconvincing "Aaaaaaaah!" while she is getting jerked like she is having a seizure]].

** Referring to Meru as 'the only good Dragoon' of the group is often common when discussing the game characters, thanks to her Dragoon Spirit being the ''only'' one that doesn't fit into the AwesomeButImpractical or CripplingOverSpecialization tropes. [[spoiler: Poking fun at the fact that she's also, ironically, a Wingly is also pretty common alongside this phrase.]]
