* CompleteMonster: [[ArchnemesisDad Titan]], once known as [[OrderIsNotGood Order]], is the despotic father of Luna, Celestia, and Terra. After temporarily defeating [[Characters/FriendshipIsMagicDiscord Discord]], Titan [[TilMurderDoUsPart murders his first wife]], Harmony, and forces Terra to be his new wife. In the process, he inflicts the Insanity on her, [[BrainwashedAndCrazy turning her into a sadistic maniac]] who was more than willing to torture Celestia. When the creations of his wife rebelled against him, Titan warred with them until his daughters imprisoned him and Terra. Freed by General Esteem, he fought the subjects that were still loyal to his daughters and tried to force Luna to be wed to his second son, Empyrean. When Empyrean is depowered, Titan snaps his neck before mercilessly beating the Element bearers for trying to use the Elements of Harmony against him.

For all his talk of being the rightful ruler of Equestria, he shows zero concern for their subjects, constantly threatening to destroy Equestria if the ponies don't stop resisting his rule and having no problems with [[OffingTheOffspring killing his own son]] after he's depowered. His wife Terra was originally married to her brother Empyrean, but had to MercyKill him after he was [[TheCorruption corrupted]] by Discord. Titan blamed Harmony, his first wife and Terra's mother, for this and killed her. He then forced his daughter Terra to become his new wife, subjecting her to the Insanity to make her into the sort of madmare that seems to greatly enjoy [[ColdBloodedTorture torturing]] one daughter and trying to kill the other.

Whereas Nihilus was created by an ArtifactOfDoom to be a creature of pure evil, and Titan and Terra are gods who are technically above normal morality, Esteem is just a {{sadist}} who's so [[BloodKnight in love with the concept of war]] that he raises his daughter via brutal TrainingFromHell, kills his wife when she refuses to help him [[SealedEvilInACan unseal Titan]], and, upon Titan's release, does whatever he can to crush any resistance. This includes driving the Sliver of Darkness [[EyeScream through Twilight's eye]] to create Nihilus knowing she'll be awake during everything after, brutally killing any pony who opposes the new regime, and upon his [[spoiler: death at Twilight's hooves]], claiming to have killed and ate Spike as a final spiteful lie.

He sees absolutely nothing wrong with murdering his own wife when she discovered his plan to overthrow Celestia, subjecting Rarity to TrainingFromHell to teach her bladecasting, jamming a [[ArtifactofDoom Artifact of Doom]] into [[EyeScream Twilight's eyeball]] to turn her into Titan's puppet, ruthlessly slaughtering any of his superiors and subordinates who refuse to support the new regime, and all on behalf of the EldritchAbomination he worships.

* FridgeHorror: [[spoiler:Twilight gained the power of Queen Harmony, becoming able to match Titan, right? And then she drains Titan dry of magical power, effectively becoming twice as powerful as him. I don't remember it being mentioned anywhere that she gave any of that power to anybody else, either. Just think that Titan almost destroyed Equestria and was able to steamroll Princesses Celestia and Luna, both of them at once, with ''half'' the power Twilight Sparkle now possesses. Now imagine what would happen if [[PowerCorrupts Twilight Sparkle went rogue]]. There is literally nothing in Equestria, probably nothing in the universe that could contain her.]]

* CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming: When Fluttershy comforts Twilight after she finds her way back to the Loyalists' base.
** That being said, Twilight's reunions with all of her friends qualify... except Rainbow Dash, who can't bring herself to get over what Nihilus did to her. [[spoiler: Which makes their eventual reconciliation all the sweeter.]]
