** Shiony became one of the most memetic characters in franchise, rivaling [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsK Mist Rex]] for the top slot, after her appearance: look at how much fanart exists of her compared to how little there is for the other ''Hakai-hen'' originals. However, unlike Mist (who owes it due to being TheScrappy), Shiony's memetic status is due to the fanbase realizing how she acts tough while being a ShrinkingViolet, overreacting to just about anything; in turn, the fandom latched onto her personality quirks and ran with it, as opposed to being the result of an accidental rumor in Mist's case. WordOfGod even acknowledged her memetic status by using her portrait in ''Saisei-hen'' for a civilian met in-game. Some fans actually find her {{Moe}} due to being an IneffectualSympatheticVillain (she's upstaged by her villainous partners, nor is she that hard of a boss when fought against).

Cue people worshipping Godmars as an unmoving God that can solve problems without even moving a limb or at best, just using miniscule animation. [[/labelnote]]

* FanDislikedExplanation
** One of the reasons for the divide of whether ''Tengoku-hen'' was worthy of a GrandFinale installment like ''Alpha 3'' or not was that many characters [[BackFromTheDead killed in previous installments returned for this game]], most without much explanation and/or HandWaving. Naturally, the latter is seen as lazy, shoddy writing, earning the writers flak for skimping out on {{Crossover}} material.
** Background information regarding [[Characters/SuperRobotWarsZ Asakim Dowin]] had been rewritten in ''Tengoku-hen'', so much that it has little to no relation to the description seen in the character's profile back in the ''first game'', particularly [[spoiler:the "sins" he mentions throughout the saga]]. The fact that this character's final line of dialogue is [[spoiler:a parallel to the opening lyrics of "Neppu! Shippu! Cybuster!", the {{Leitmotif}} belonging to [[Characters/MasouKishin Masaki Andoh]]]], triggering an abundance of WildMassGuessing and MindScrew for many players, has led them to point towards WriterCopOut for neglecting built-up origins in favor of {{Retcon}}s.

** The ''Second Z'' duology being on a handheld attracted a large number of complaints, as well as the removal of the "TRI-Battle System". A combination of these two things has also limited returning series to their key cast members and units only. Additionally, the fact [[WhatCouldHaveBeen it was planned to be a PlayStation 2 game]] had some fans upset, as the Sony UsefulNotes/PlayStationPortable is seen as a downgrade in terms of graphical capabilities.

** Heine from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeedDestiny'' appeared to be an intended playable character, given that his GOUF Ignited has fully animated battle sprites and that he has his own cut-in [[https://youtu.be/RdLpXu3t95c?t=215 which can be seen here]][[note]]The GOUF Ignited does make an appearance in battle albeit in a scripted one where it gets shot down[[/note]]. * KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Due to it being split between two games as well as being released only on the PSP, Z2 is ''incredibly'' difficult to get ahold of due to both the fragility of the PSP after considerably use and the uniquely-formatted mini-discs being very finicky after too much use. Even finding music or gameplay of Z2 is a challenge, entirely because both games were on the PSP.

*** The second one is a minor, but significant bug: in the ''Second Z'', it's possible to leave space on the sub-order menu before enacting sub-orders for party members who are not sortied out into combat, thus players are allowed to go back and fill those spaces and activate orders for them if they wish to. In ''Hakai-hen'', filled rows are locked out, but in ''Saisei-hen'', it's possible to visit an unfilled row, switch to a filled row (by pressing the L or R buttons while holding down the triangle button), then swap out one pilot for another who hasn't been given orders yet. This means the player is no longer forced to choose who gets sub-orders when the [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters cast becomes too large]].
