* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The June 2023 update was met with considerable backlash for perceived censorship -- specifically to certain fanservice elements (e.g., changing Filia's underwear colour from white to black and removing a CG where a middle-aged man visibly gropes her from her story mode) and to certain politically-sensitive design aspects (most notably removing the [[PuttingOnTheReich red armbands]] from the Black Egrets and a few alt Parasoul palettes). This isn't the first time the game's developers have caught flak for a wave of design edits seen to be 'toning down' a game BestKnownForTheFanservice.

Edited for poor grammar. Also, vagueness: don't claim 'a huge amount of censorship' and then fail to identify what. The voice this entry was written in also more or less claims to speak for a majority, which isn't something it can back up. Steam review bombing isn't really 'proof' of much. Finally, please provide proof positive that the devs made a promise not to make any more such edits before putting that detail back in.

* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The June 2023 update brings a huge amount of censorships to the game, not just for the fanservice, but also some elements that are considered sensitive, especially regarding the current events. However, the update is by far the worst received one so far, especially from older players. Considering that even minor censorships prior caused a BrokenBase, it's no surprise that the major [[{{Bowdlerize}} fanservice censorships]] have also caught a lot of flak, often considered a blight to a game BestKnownForTheFanservice. This is egregious since Lab Zero promised not to make any more major changes towards the game. To prove how severe the backlash is, shortly after the June 2023 update, the "Recent Reviews" on the {{UsefulNotes/Steam}} page have turned into ''overwhelmingly negative'', a far cry from the usual ''very positive'' reviews the game had.

** After it was discovered that a couple of animations involving panty shots were edited, some fans were concerned this was the start of potential censorship in the future. Lab Zero later clarified that these were only edited due to artistic reasons (they felt the original animations were too forced) and no other adjustments of this type would be made. (In addition, some panty shots are still in the game.) Some were okay with that decision, considering that one of the affected fighters (Filla) was underage.

After further edits were made in a June 2023 patch, the base was broken even further, especially considering the promise the development team had previously made to not make any further changes of that nature.

Yeah... no, that's literally just one of many possible futures, it's absolutely no different from any other characters' ending, the bad guy winning in one timeline does not mean they're torching the franchise, if that were the case, there would have been no DLC at all after Double's ending and Eliza would have been the final DLC character to come out.

Luckily, a new port of the game was released in 2023, completely replacing the old version.

** Double's Catellite Lives super. What it does is essentially keep you in permanent lockdown for the entire duration of the move, allowing your opponent to mix you up in any way they see fit. If you end up getting hit, which you likely will, you end up in a combo... which leads to the person gaining meter, performing Catellite Lives AGAIN, and repeating the process until you're dead. The only way to defend against it is to either block the entire thing or perform a really difficult technique known as pushblock guard cancelling in the middle of blocking the super and ''hope'' that it manages to hit Double so you can break free. This move kind of makes her a TierInducedScrappy among the competitive community.
