* FanonDiscontinuity: ''Frequency Unknown'' gets hit with this by many, due to it being released by Geoff Tate's band during the period where there were 2 Queensryches. May have gone into CanonDiscontinuity now, considering that Todd La Torre's version of the band won the legal case.

* CanonDiscontinuity: Fans were already inclined to throw ''Operation Mindcrime II'' in the bin because they felt it was inferior to the original, and they had extra reason after producer Jason Slater revealed in court that the album was mostly recorded by session musicians and programmed drums due to conflicts between Geoff Tate and the rest of the band on the creative direction. Scott Rockenfield isn't on it at all despite being credited, and certain bass parts are demos originally recorded by Slater himself.

Any time a new interview or news story involving him came out, you could expect a flood of people ranting about how horrible he is and calling his version of Queensrÿche a fraud, and a few Geoff supporters claiming the rest of the band screwed him over and accusing them of being a glorified cover band without him. Each side would then accuse the other of secretly being paid cronies, family members and/or actual band members for the faction they were supporting, at which point either mods would step in or war would break out. It still happens to some extent, but not nearly as frequently or virulently now that the whole "who's the real Queensryche" thing has been resolved.
