* HumorDissonance: Luna and Alice are frequently presented as lovable lunatics, playing by the rules of Wonderland while the rest of reality tries to keep up. This is how they're ''presented''. They're ''portrayed as written'', on the other hand, as a complete sociopath (in Luna's case) and a psychotic megalomaniac who doesn't care if reality snaps like a Twix bar under her feet (in Alice's case). Lionheart never realizes this and keeps writing them as if their actions are simple whimsy.

** Many readers think that Harry gets corrupted by the bit of Voldemort’s soul that gets freed by the Dementor’s Kiss.
** The commenters on Blog/DasSporking had a field day when Luna is able to [[spoiler:age Blinky the basilisk from infancy to adulthood in two seconds]] just by placing a hand on its head and saying, “Believe.” Considering her prior actions, they promptly read this as her being [[MadeOfEvil so purely evil]] that Dark magic exuded from her very being to give a Dark creature a power-up. (A later chapter suggests it was just the unpredictability of fairy magic [[ContrivedCoincidence just happening to give them a beneficial result]], and that she couldn’t do it again at will.)
* ArcFatigue: The author interrupts his own narrative to dive into a series of side plots and digressions that have absolutely nothing to do with the central story, including time travel, the Space Race, and a fight with vampires. Several of the story’s reviewers used the phrase “gone off the rails,” while other reviewers claimed the author has “lost sight of the original plot”. Most events in the story are never relevant or referenced again, meaning that Arc Fatigue can set in very rapidly as the reader starts to see the story as an unrelated series of vignettes.

By definition, it can’t be Disproportionate Retribution because the author thinks it’s justified.

* TooBleakStoppedCaring: A common criticism of the story. Of the three main factions in play, Dumbledore is hideously, disgustingly evil and Lionheart spells it out repeatedly at length (and does the same for his more important cronies, especially Snape); Harry doesn't have the same length of a rap sheet, but his (and Luna's, and to a certain extent Hermione's) obsessive pursuit of power by any means (to the point of willingly employing [[MadLove Bellatrix Lestrange]]) and fondness for brutally excessive DisproportionateRetribution and [[PayEvilUntoEvil paying evil unto evil]] makes it hard to see him as remotely heroic; and Voldemort is, well, ''Voldemort.'' Add in the fact that Lionheart's take on wizarding Britain has it as a horribly corrupt CrapsackWorld, that Harry is associated with TheFairFolk who have no problem with initiating an apocalyptic nuclear war or turning a hundred women into brainwashed dryads for Harry's harem, and there's just very little reason left to root for any of these people or care about the outcome of their conflict.

What An Idiot is now classified as Flame Bait.

* WhatAnIdiot:
** Dumbledore is brought to the Hospital Wing because three of his students, Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle, have been Confunded and are raving about a [[OxymoronicBeing Muggle Dark Lord]] named Colonel Sanders.\\
'''You'd expect:''' Dumbledore, the greatest wizard on Earth, to recognize the obvious signs of a Confundus Charm, and also, since he is unusually familiar with Muggle culture and reads Muggle newspapers, to do the research on Colonel Sanders and learn that he is a now-deceased fast food magnate (assuming he didn't already know that), and thus conclude that this is someone's idea of a prank.\\
'''Instead:''' He takes it completely seriously, actually believes that Colonel Sanders is a new threat to his power, and is caught off-guard enough for [[spoiler:Malfoy to stab him with a chicken bone spiked with basilisk venom]].
** Harry, Hermione and Luna have exorcised Professor Binns, leaving History of Magic without a teacher. Luckily for them, they are able to Transfigure Moaning Myrtle into his likeness so that she can fill in for him. On her first day teaching, she shows the students ''Film/TheLordOfTheRings'' films, claiming that they are about the ancient history of the magical world.\\
'''You'd expect:''' A Muggle-born student to recognize the story and call out this bullshit, if not in class, then at least fill in their pureblood counterparts once class is dismissed. You would also expect that at least one non-Muggle-born would think something's fishy, since the "history" shown is clearly incompatible with their world.\\
'''Instead:''' Everyone buys it hook, line and sinker. Even the ''teachers''. Even ''[=McGonagall=] and Dumbledore''.\\
'''The result:''' Harry and the others are emboldened to try it with ''Film/{{Ghostbusters|1984}}'', leading to a panic as wizards come to think that [[TheMasquerade the Statute of Secrecy]] has been breached, [[MugglePower and the Muggles are fighting back]].
** Harry and his harem flood the Ministry in order to destroy the records of who is pureblooded, leaving [[InnocentBystander the archivists]] (and others) there to drown. Nothing blocks the exit, which is a door that opens inward to safety.\\
'''You'd expect:''' The archivists to pull the door open and escape, long before the room floods enough to make that impossible.\\
'''Instead:''' Both archivists frantically try to push the door open, and, even if one grants that they were panicked, it boggles the mind that they never even ''attempted'' to open it the other way.\\
'''The result:''' They drown, and [[TooDumbToLive the narrative blames them for their own stupidity]].\\
'''What's more:''' These are witches. Even if they are too panicked to pull the door open or blast it down with magic, shouldn't they be able to cast a Bubble-Head Charm to save themselves? It's unlikely that they would forget that in a matter of life or death.
** Dumbledore has reunited with [[spoiler:his lover Grindelwald]], and the two of them have gathered an army and come to the River Styx, intending to become invulnerable by dipping themselves in its waters. The only snag in this plan is that anyone, or anything, who touches the Styx unprotected loses all their memory and skills, and thus drowns within minutes, while at the same time burning to a crisp. After [[WeHaveReserves losing several henchmen]], they eventually discover how to gain the river's protection without losing their memories and dying.\\
'''You'd expect:''' Dumbledore would not experiment on any of his Horcrux clones, since they are far too valuable to risk. If he absolutely must give them the protection, then only test it on one of them, not all four, and be prepared to make a replacement if things go south.\\
'''Instead:''' He tests the final agreed-upon protections on his clones first, and loses four Horcruxes within minutes without Harry having to lift a finger.

** The commenters on Blog/DasSporking had a field day when Luna was able to [[spoiler:age Blinky the basilisk from infancy to adulthood in two seconds]] just by placing a hand on its head and saying “Believe.” Considering her prior actions, they promptly read this as her being [[MadeOfEvil so purely evil]] that Dark magic exuded from her very being to give a Dark creature a power-up. (A later chapter suggests it was just the unpredictability of fairy magic [[ContrivedCoincidence just happening to give them a beneficial result]], and that she couldn’t do it again at will.)
* ArcFatigue: The author interrupts his own narrative to dive into a series of side-plots and digressions that have absolutely nothing to do with the central story, including time travel, the space race, and a fight with vampires. Several of the story’s reviewers used the phrase “gone off the rails”, while other reviewers claimed the author has “lost sight of the original plot”.
** Most events in the story are never relevant or referenced again, meaning that ArcFatigue can set in very rapidly as the reader starts to see the fanfic as an unrelated series of vignettes.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: One chapter is devoted to the history of Beauxbatons (or at least Lionheart's take on its history). Well, it ''claims'' to be about Beauxbatons, though the first half of the chapter is devoted to explaining that the Greco-Roman gods were actually wizards. This chapter is ''never'' referenced again.
* CanonDefilement: Probably intentional, given the header to chapter one.

** Queen Alice. She has her childish fun at the expense of actual humans, thinks nukes are no big deal and abuses the power she has over Muggles. She is basically a childish dictator, like Harry really wants to become. By Chapter 99, she starts advocating for the ''forced resettlement'' of entire populations of people (and [[EvilReactionary the reestablishment of medieval feudalism]]) as a remedy for disasters that ''she caused''.

Must be intentional and be a single specific moment.

* FridgeBrilliance: Of ''course'' Harry crosses the MoralEventHorizon (and then [[CrossesTheLineTwice circles around]] and crosses again... and again... and again...)— the whole story gets kicked off by him ''[[DrunkOnTheDarkSide absorbing a piece]] [[ThisIsYourBrainOnEvil of Voldemort’s soul]]''. This would be much more interesting if the author appeared to realize it, though. See also TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot.

** Dumbledore is way past this to the point of ridiculousness, apparently from long before the start of the story.
** Harry crosses it in Chapter 9, when he kills [[spoiler:Snape]] for the first time. [[MindRape The way]] [[YourHeadASplode he murders him]] is too brutal. This marks the transition from him merely being a [[PossessionSue Possession Stu]] twisted out of character to a full-on VillainProtagonist in the eyes of everyone except the author.
** [[EnfantTerrible Luna]] crosses it with the premeditated murder of [[KinslayingIsASpecialKindOfEvil her uncle]], ''despite'' the victim being [[AssholeVictim Lucius Malfoy]].
** Hermione crosses it with the [[spoiler:”turn women into dryad slaves against their will” plan]].
** The Fairy Queen, if she wasn't already over the line, officially crosses it by rewarding Harry [[spoiler:with a happy childhood via CosmicRetcon]] in response to him [[spoiler:creating said dryad slaves]].

** Alice crosses it by turning a human into a rope for her amusement, forcing Trelawney to take an unknown potion without her consent, and threatening the Queen of England with the Jabberwock.

** Voldemort crosses it by declaring every pureblood family must force a child to get pregnant to repopulate the pureblood families. This measure gets a lot of support from everyone except the readers.
%%** Ornstead himself crosses it by justifying [[spoiler: the nuking of a real group of people to extinction. Not only is it in a far bigger scale than the aforementioned atrocity, but he takes such perverse glee in describing how civilization will be destroyed as just punishment for abandoning absolute monarchy, meaning he actually believes this in real life and that his professed libertarian beliefs were a lie. Even many fans of him called him out for that.]]

Understandable, but these examples are still Cowboy Be Bop At His Computer and not Critical Research Failure.

* CriticalResearchFailure: The parts of canon that aren't deliberately rewritten tend to fall under this. For example:
** Dumbledore and Snape seem easily fooled by muggle-related materials, which is supposed to be because they're purebloods. Both of them are actually ''half-bloods'', which Lionheart should know given that this fact was literally the title of one of the books. Lionheart ''finally'' seems to remember that Tobias Snape was a Muggle [[spoiler:by the time Trelawney goes back to the past.]]
** There are repeated references made to Harry having "almost died" of the Dementor's Kiss that starts the story. The Dementor's Kiss is explicitly not fatal, as established at length in ''Prisoner of Azkaban''.
** Most severe of all seems to be the repeated inference that Lily's sacrificial protection would stop the Killing Curse indiscriminately. Per canon, that works by perpetrator, not the method they chose, meaning it would only be effective against Voldemort, and no one else. And even against Voldemort, due to basically being made of willing sacrifice, this protection most likely can't be leeched from Harry and used for other people.
** He also makes mistakes about other canons, such as assuming that [[Franchise/StarTrek Trekkies]] can speak the Vulcan language, which has never been fleshed out, and despite even people totally unfamiliar with ''Star Trek'' knowing that [[NerdsSpeakKlingon it’s Klingon that the Trekkies claim to speak]].
