* TheScrappy: Flay Alster. To some, she's just a slutty and manipulative MindGameShip. To others, she's the most painfully realistic character in the series.

* NoYay: It isn't hard to interpret [[CompleteMonster Azrael]]'s interactions with [[SergeantRock Natarle Badgerrule]] as an attempt at hitting on her. {{Squick}}!

* MagnificentBastard: Rau Le Creuset fits this trope incredibly well. He does have a VillainousBreakdown but not much of one, goes out with a smile, and most importantly is a fine ManipulativeBastard and Chessmaster.

* MisBlamed: As mentioned many times on this page, many of SEED's detractors take Destiny's flaws and put them onto SEED instead of focusing on SEED's own flaws. In fact, even though there were a lot of changes in production just like Destiny, they improved the overall quality of the series. Not that the FanDumb would listen when you bring this up, of course.

* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Rau Le Creuset.

* CompleteMonster: Muruta Azrael

** To a lesser extent, Rau Le Creuset also qualifies. Throughout the series, he is depicted as a sociopath devoid of empathy who desires the extermination of every man, woman, and child in existence. True, he had a bad childhood which wasn't helped by the fact that he was doomed to die at an early age due to shortened telomeres within his genetic structure. However, there were several moments in his life when he was treated with genuine kindness by figures such as Gilbert Durandal, Athrun Zala, and Flay Allster among others. Even though such altruistic behavior flew in the face of his view that All Humansare Bastards, he willfully disregarded such experiences and continued with his plans of omnicide just for the sake of dragging down as many people with him as he possibly could.

* AdaptationDecay: The goddamn manga. It crunched a 50-episode plot into five volumes and butchered the characterization of almost ''every'' character. [[spoiler:Ironically, it's one of the adaptations where it's revealed that Rau was [[ParentalAbandonment abandoned by Al de Flaga]] when his body's flaws became apparent, setting the stage for certain events in the sequel.]]
** One thing the manga may have handled better was [[spoiler: the way Nicol and Tolle died]]. When [[spoiler: Nicol]] takes the hit for Athrun, Athrun attacks Kira in a blind rage instead of spending the rest of the day and much of the next moping about it, and winds up [[spoiler: killing Tolle]] in the same battle. However, the impact is indeed dulled by the fact that the manga's version of the characters are quite flat.
