* CompleteMonster: [[BigBad Yashahime]] is one of the most powerful Gods and the most [[JerkassGods evil and insane]]. Initially a StalkerWithACrush for the God of Death Darkray, after his defeat, Yashahime found Darkray's soul and, despite being capable of saving him, destroys him out of disgust. She proceeds to brainwash Kurohime's beloved Zero into the new Death God and relishes using him to destroy Kurohime. Yashahime later brutally tries to kill Kurohime by slicing her to ribbons. When this is undone, she steals the power of the god of earth by merging with the planet, aiming to devour and [[OmnicidalManiac sacrifice the lives of all surviving humans]] to free herself to go on and [[PlanetEater devour every planet]] that exists so she can reign over the universe. When Zero rejects her wishes to rule at her side, she remorselessly tries to kill him as well.

After trying and failing to crush Hime to death with her hand, she finally decides to take the direct approach and pulls her face up from the depths of the planet to simply crush Kandata's ship between her teeth. Having no other logical choice, Hime decides to have the Ultimate Sword live up to its name. She does this by [[EarthShatteringKaboom slicing Yashahime aka the planet in half]]. Yes, Kurohime has now [[ApocalypseWow killed the entire world.]] And it's [[CrazyAwesome BEAUTIFUL.]]]]

* HolyShitQuotient: Apparently the author got tired of readers complaining about the [[PlotTumor Journey To The Past arc]] and decided to up the ante starting with chapter 59.

* NightmareFuel:[[spoiler: Once we learn just [[PlanetEater what they are]] and [[AssimilationPlot how they became that powerful,]] the Great Gods become this easily.]]

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: Kurohime killing Darkray, with the help of Zero.
** [[DarkActionGirl Sword's]] reappearance, showing that while Kurohime got weaker, she TookALevelInBadass.
** The second time she faced her, Kurohime's utter pwnage of Yashahime. First, she [[PluckyGirl refuses to give on up saving Zero]], foiling Yasha's plan to destroy Kurohime in the most emotionally painful way possible. Next, after Hime depowers at the worst possible moment, Yashahime moves in for the kill, only for [[HeelFaceTurn Yukio and O-yuki]] to step in and give her a hand. In a parallel of their first fight, Yashahime catches the blade dragon only to notice too late that there were two of them. Cue OhCrap.
** Pretty much anytime a god dies.

* GrowingTheBeard: The first three or so volumes are fanservice-filled fun, if a bit repetitive. Around volume three, the action picks up as Kurohime starts to resume her battle with the gods; by volume five, she's had, and won, an epic showdown with Dark Ray, and Zero is dead.

* PurityStu: Zero, particularly in the beginning. Then, very much [[{{Deconstruction}} deconstructed.]]

* CompleteMonster: Yashahime again, so much so that in [[PetTheDog one of his better moods,]] ''Darkray'' specifically warned the Death Angels not to [[EvilerThanThou get on her bad side.]] Nice to know [[EvenEvilHasStandards even HE had standards.]]
** Doc betrayed Rei’s and Zero’s father in battle getting him killed. Then later when their mother refused his advances he tried to rape her and killed her when she fought back. Then ended up taking them both in as his slaves. And after all that once they had him in their mercy he got on his knees and begged for his life. Despite letting him live the moment he came across another vulnerable and powerful child his first thought was what he could do if he had them.
*** He later attempted to purposely corrupt the darkness in Rei’s heart in order to awaken the shinigami. Even Doc couldn’t figure out why Rei let him live.
