* UnpleasableFanbase: He stated [[http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/bt/aj/ajs/13236-youmacon02 in a Youmacon Q&A panel]] that part of why he had not done any of the [[ComicBook/SonicTheHedgehog Archie Sonic comics]] at that point was because he was afraid of what the fans would do if he screwed it up.

*** Linkara might actually count as a ''[[DeconstructedTrope deconstruction]]'' of a MartyStu. First of all, for all of his victories and wonderful tech, he's never actually ''permanently'' defeated any of his enemies. Dr. Insano has JokerImmunity, Mechakara has come BackFromTheDead more than once, Dr. Linksano will probably never die due to being a HarmlessVillain, and Lord Vyce... well, [[CurbStompBattle we all know how well]] ''[[CurbStompBattle that]]'' [[CurbStompBattle went down]]. Secondly, Linkara is supposedly the "[[TheChosenOne Champion]]" of his universe... but [[HeroKiller Lord Vyce]] has already stated he's killed ''sixteen'' Champions. In other words, the title means nothing in the grand scheme of things. The character himself also has quite a few flaws, such as his {{Pride}}. After defeating Mechakara during the Vyce arc, Liz gives him a look that can only really be summed up as a "WhatTheHellHero [[BuffySpeak Face]]", probably because he didn't help her while powered-up; not to mention that his [[BloodKnight willingness to fight]] and [[BadassBoast fairly frequent boasting]] tends to get him pummelled, even if he does make a comeback later on. Also, he flat-out ''stole'' Neutro from his ArchEnemy; not exactly his most heroic of moments. There's also the fact that his HeroicWillpower might ''not'' be as strong as he thinks it is. During [[spoiler:the MindRape sequence]] in the ''SilentHill'' review, it's made clear that [[spoiler:he ''would'' have pulled the trigger if the spirit within the gun hadn't stopped him.]] He literally depends on his {{Nakama}} to keep him alive.

* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: Not including the ultra-catchy "Gunslinger" OP theme, he's lately quite fond of borrowing music from the Matt Smith era of DoctorWho (in particular, the "The Doctor is doing something awesome" music) as well as themes from ''StarTrekIITheWrathOfKhan''.

* BetterThanItSounds: Several of the comics on his list of ''15 Comic's I'll Never Review''.

* CriticalBacklash: Linkara experienced this with the Spiderman comic MaximumCarnage.

* {{Wangst}}: After his date with Telsia is abruptly cut short during ''Elite Force'', Linkara spends several minutes drunkenly staggering around Voyager, wailing to himself and trying to get Hägen-Dazs out of the replicators.

** As he points out, the Clone Saga was originally set to be revealed as the handiwork of Mephisto, but the editors decided that Mephisto getting involved with Spider-Man was ridiculous. *ahem*

* Narm: The Mechakara and Vyce arcs can seem a bit over the top, especially when you take in the fact that this is a review show for bad comic books.

** Along with [[HypeBacklash most of the fans.]]

* AcceptableTargets: The theme song explicitly states that anybody who has produced a bad comic is fair game, but Linkara is particularly irked by examples of sexism and exploitation in comics. The blatant sexism of Gary Brodsky, author of ''Sultry Teenage Super-Foxes # 1'', gets him elevated to the opening credits as the specific example of somebody who is ''not'' "the smartest."
** He also has no patience for bad artists, especially Leifeld-style '90s ones or ones who turn out cheesecake on every page.
* ArcFatigue: Linkara points out that ''TheCloneSaga'' really overstayed its welcome.
* BadassDecay: Linkara dislikes how the trope was handled in JLAActOfGod, which revolved around all the heroes being BroughtDownToNormal. He particularly disliked what they did with Aquaman.

* BrainBleach:
** Necessary after Linkara's "Batman: Agent of NAMBLA" joke takes a whole new meaning.
** "When I do drugs, I see Bea Arthur! You should probably forget I said that." (Which is obviously a Deadpool reference. ...We hope...)
* CharacterDerailment[=/=]FaceHeelTurn: His Top 15 Worst Heroes Becoming Villains. This is why Linkara sometimes gives characters nicknames, they are so divorced from their traditional portrayal (Or even a different portrayal that logically explains the divergence) that they no longer count as the same character.
* ContemplateOurNavels: ''CryForJustice'' has a phenomenally stupid and incoherent one. [[SarcasmFailure There are even times when Linkara can't find anything snarky to say]].
** ''Act of God'' was absolutely rife with this, and Linkara continually calls out the writers on the hamfisted monologuing during his review.
* CrazyAwesome: Linkara describes the image of Neutro riding a whale as being quite possibly the most awesome thing he or anyone else will ever see in their lives, possibly surpassed only by Robo-bear versus Cyber-gorilla!

* DudeNotFunny:
** Linkara's TotallyRadical alter ego, '90s Kid, has this reaction upon seeing Superboy-Prime vaporize a pregnant woman.
** He points out that, in Action Comics #593, Superman and Big Barda are essentially raping each other, [[RapeAsDrama which is a terrible plot point]].

* EnsembleDarkhorse: Frequently says that Bulk and Skull are "the real stars" of ''Power Rangers''.

* FurryFandom: Mentions it in his Prologue to ''Countdown''. [[DefiedTrope He wisely skips]] [[InternetBackdraft the subject]]:

* IdiotPlot: Linkara refers to this as Riddler's Syndrome, though he points out the inaccuracy of the title, in his reviews of ''Daredevil'' # 305 and # 306. The trope is one of his larger pet peeves about the comics industry since it is the cause of several of the more notorious bad comics he has reviewed.
** He points out a number of specific instances where characters could have taken action to have made ''Amazons Attack'' end sooner, such as Artemis and Phillipus actually taking action against Hippolyta, or Superman grabbing Hippoltya and flying away with her instead of just grabbing Wonder Woman to break up their fight, and only their decision to act as idiots continued the story.
** He expressly uses the term "IdiotPlot" (and even defines it) in reference to the {{Elseworld}} ''JLAActOfGod''.
* InformedWrongness: Big Barda's InternalMonologue in ''ActionComics'' #592 describes the back alley she stumbles into as being worse than Apokolips, but Linkara comments that this is a [[BlatantLies patently false statement]], since this alley, though unpleasant, is a SugarBowl compared to Apokolips, which is a close approximation to ''hell''.
* InNameOnly:
** By two-thirds of the way through his ''Superman at Earth's End'' review, Linkara can only bring himself to refer to the title character as "Bearded Idiot".
** In an early text review he dubs the title character of ''All-Star Batman and Robin'' "BINO" (Batman InNameOnly) due to the ludicrous levels of character derailment. In the video version he decides that "Batman" must actually be a hobo who found a Batman costume and dubs him "Crazy Steve".
* InternetBackdraft:
** His critique of ''TheDarkKnightStrikesAgain'' has led to some harsh responses from FrankMiller fans and his ''lack'' of response to TheMaxx was taken as an indictment of its quality. Verging into real-world politics was his crossover with {{the Nostalgia Critic}} to review ''[[Film/{{Superman}} Superman IV: The Quest For Peace]]''; they staged a rather elaborate joke about the unrealistically happy reaction of all the world's leaders to Superman announcing that he was taking their nukes. In this exchange he mentioned Israel not as a value judgement, but simply as a group of people that probably would not burst into wild happy applause if they were stripped of their nuclear arsenal by outside forces. He received a barrage of hatemail afterwards, both from people who supported Israel and thought he was being disloyal and from people who do not support Israel thinking he was supporting their sovereignty. He even addressed this in his commentary for the review.
** Parodied in his Holiday Shopping Guide video; as he is telling the audience "do your own research to find comics you like rather than bugging me all the time for suggestions" he looks over to a Fan Base meter slowly lowering and quickly changes his tune. When he lets Pollo do a review, after the Mechakara arc, Pollo goes on an anti-Garth Ennis rant as Linkara quietly weeps at how much this must be pissing off so many of his fans.

* MemeticBadass: How he discusses Carter, the red ranger, of ''PowerRangersLightspeedRescue''

** Linkara seems to enjoy TheSilverAgeOfComicBooks, or at least elements of its style, for exactly this reason. Very obvious when CrazyAwesome content or (on the flip side) pointless gore pop up.
* NoSuchThingAsBadPublicity: [[http://twitter.com/Linkara19/status/13149039277121536 Lewis believes]] that this it the reason ''Sci-Spy'' has gotten a reprint and US-1 has made [[SelfDeprecation Self Deprecating]] cameos.

* SpecialEffectFailure: The poorly-animated [[StarTrekEliteForce Vohrsoth]]. Lampshaded, of course.
* {{Squick}}: Linkara's reaction in ''Ultimates 3 # 1 and 2'' about how Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are officialy a couple... who are also still [[{{Twincest}} twin]] [[BrotherSisterIncest brother and sister]].

* StrangledByTheRedString: Linkara was extremely critical of the relationship between {{Superman}} and WonderWoman in JLAActOfGod.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: While many criticized the ''{{Watchmen}}'' [[Film/{{Watchmen}} movie]] for being too close to the source material, Linkara panned it for the few things they changed, like [[spoiler:Ozymendias' plan changing from an "alien invasion" to blowing up energy reactors and framing Dr. Manhattan]] and his belief that the ending was more upbeat than ambiguous. However, he eventually did acknowledge that the movie was still very good despite the changes and mentions that he made the first review too soon after having seen the movie. Whenever Linkara ''does'' complain about something being changed he gives a good reason about ''why'' it sucks other than "it's different", or "they changed the status quo".
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot:
** Linkara provides the page quote with regards to ''[[strike:Superman]] Bearded Idiot: At Earth's End'', which is a story about how Superman fought clones of AdolfHitler in the future. Despite the interesting conflict that this idea presented the final result was the first comic to actually be [[KillItWithFire burned]] on the show.
** In his review of ''JLAActOfGod'' Linkara remarks that the underlying plot of the story, namely every superhero in the DC universe [[BroughtDownToNormal losing their powers]], is actually a very good idea and showed great promise as a story premise. However, the execution of the idea was so atrocious that this three-part series became one of the comics he decided to actually destroy on the show, shooting it wit his magic gun after the finished he review.

* ValuesDissonance: The casual misogyny of ''The X-Men #1'' (written in the '60s) turns Linkara against it.

* TheWesley: Linkara clearly perceives [[CreepyChild Christabella]] from the [[InNameOnly Silent Hill]] comics as this.
* WhatAnIdiot: Linkara points out that the best solution two scientists can think of to restrain an easily manipulable, NighInvulnerable super robot is to chain him up rather than disassembling him or fortifying him against enemy radio signals.
