* {{Lolicon}}: Subverted in "The Beauty of Kootie", Mario uses Kootie's wand to transform Luigi into "Casanova Koopa" to distract Kootie while Mario, Toadstool, the King of Desert Land and Toad escape. He also kisses her on the lips passionately, which disgusts Luigi himself while in disguise. And later when Luigi reverts back to his former self by Kootie's wand accidentally:
--->'''Cheatsy''': Luigi!
--->'''Luigi''': Luigi?
--->'''Kootie''': Ahh! I've been kissed by a plumber! [Kootie and Cheatsy chases Luigi up the stairs] I'll tie your lips behind your head! And you'll never kiss again!!!

** According to TheNostalgiaCritic, this is never mentioned by anyone else, leading him to suggest that it was an honest mistake and that by the time it was caught, [[ExecutiveMeddling nobody wanted to delay the episode]] [[TheyJustDidntCare long enough to fix it]]. But of course that's just speculation.

(note, for example that in the "Night Before Cave Christmas" episode, [[YourSizeMayVary that Mario inexplicably grows large between cuts when he's talking to Oogtar about being "good".]]

* WallBanger: "Do You Princess Toadstool Take This Koopa...?" has Bowser agree to change the Mushroom people back from identical green stones if the Princess agrees to marry him (hence the title). Behind her back, he breaks his promise and changes the Mushroom folks to stones again. Somehow, Mario and Luigi are able to figure out just which of those stones is Toad, despite the stones all looking alike. Then they use Bowser's magic wand to restore Toad and transform into their Super forms, after which the wand overheats and disintegrates. [[WhatHappenedToTheMouse It's never shown if the other Mushroom people got changed back to normal]], and for some reason, the Mario Bros. and Toad don't mention them again afterward.

* MoralDissonance: In the episode "7 Continents for 7 Koopas," [[strike:Roy]] Bully Koopa grafittis the Great Wall of China. How does Mario solve this? [[ScaledUp He turns the wall into a dragon.]] That's more of a problem than what Bully originally did to it.

Saturday morning cartoons based on ''Super Mario Bros. 3'' and ''Super Mario World'' were later made (without live-action segments) and would air alongside ''CaptainNTheGameMaster'' on {{NBC}}. The former is about the Marios' adventures in the game's worlds, with the "Real World" getting involved frequently. It also featured the debut of King Koopa's Koopa Kids (who have completely different names from their video game counterparts). The latter relocates the action to Dinosaur [[strike:Land]] [[strike:Island]] World, removed the Real World, [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome dropped Toad]] (understandably, since he wasn't in the game), and expanded the cast to include Yoshi and various cave people, most prominently [[TheScrappy Oogtar]].
