Hidden Block has been dormant for years, the site is defunct, removing the link and updating.

Ian [=MacLeod=], otherwise known as [[https://www.youtube.com/user/brutalmoose brutalmoose]], is a video game reviewer on WebSite/YouTube and [[http://hiddenblock.com/ Hidden Block]]. He does reviews mostly of PC titles, though he occasionally does console games too. His style is more relaxed than most of the other comedic video game reviewers on [=YouTube=] with a notably more informative direction, although he does mostly do it for the humor. He has since branched out to include reviews of old movies, videos, TV shows, recipes and frozen meals—anything with a retro or nostalgic charm, really.

Deleted Five Man Band example: zero-context. Part of TRS Wick Cleaning - cannot expand due to unfamiliarity.

* FiveManBand: Present in Ian's wagon party in the ''Oregon Trail: Third Edition'' video;
** TheLeader: Ian
** TheLancer: Austin Billings, the meek and humble blacksmith to Ian's overconfident and gung ho banker. [[spoiler: He is also [[BlackDudeDiesFirst the first of the group to go down]] in contrast to Ian being the SoleSurvivor.]]
** TheBigGuy: Billy Barnes, a rough-and-tumble adventurer who boasts about his strength and fighting skill.
** TheSmartGuy: Nicholas J. Tillman, a smarmy merchant in a tacky suit who pitches himself to Ian by emphasizing his wit and intellect.
** TheChick: Ana Tillman, Nicholas' wife and the only woman in the group. While she has no survival skills of note, Ian is endeared by her hobby of painting.

-->'''Ian:''' It's interesting to note how little you actually ''see food'' in these [=TV=] dinner commercials. It's like, 10 percent of the screentime ''maybe''. This might as well have been an advertisement for Supercuts.

* BreadEggsMilkSquick: In his reveiw of Super Solvers: Mission T.H.I.N.K. "Sorting things into appropriate venn diagrams rivals the thrill of sorting laundry. Selecting the appropriate car parts to navigate to the exit is slightly more exciting than trying to understand which overpriced cable bundle package to purchase. And the assembly line is basicly a nice little reminder that we're all going to die one day, and nothing really matters, and we're all just a speck of dust in an ever-expanding universe and no matter how hard I try, all of my accomplishments are going to be lost to the endless void of time! So, yeah. That's the assembly line."

* GenreRoulette: Ian's videos slowly evolved from run-of-the-mill video game reviewing to... whatever he feels like at the moment, really, as long as it's chill and reminds you of a simpler time. ''Quest for the Cosmic Crisp'' is probably the silliest: not only is the base concept (a video about Ian looking for apples) already rather out there, he admits halfway through that he just took a stroll with his camera and only thought of the Cosmic Crisp thing a long while into his walk. The video itself is pretty much just a guided tour of the Seattle Pike Place Market.

Added DiffLines:

* {{Retraux}}: While Ian has always tried to go for an early 90's look for his show, it really came into his own in 2020 when he got his hands on a VHS camera. A lot of people have been surprised to see the old Youtube 4/3 display reappear in a world always questing for bigger resolution.

* SugarApocalypse: It happens quite a bit with Ian's dry sense of humor, but the best example is probably Poppy the Penguin. After making the video a tad too late for the holidays, he ended up reworking the concept from "penguin on skis" to "penguin left crippled and in horrible debt after a skiing accident that also killed his son". And then the penguin gets eaten alive. Bonus points for Poppy being made of popcorn, chocolate and candy, making the sugar part quite literal.
