Sure, they're ridiculously powerful weapons, but the only way to get them is to beat the main missions (for the Nock Gun) and all the side missions (for the Cannon Nock Gun), at which point, the only use for them is to wipe out towns or take out random bandit attacks which occur from time to time. There is an Easter egg that lets you replay earlier levels with your advanced weapons and skills once you've finished the game. To boot, the real-life Nock gun was incredibly impractical due to the tremendous recoil that either injured or shattered the shoulder of the wielder.
