While on a routine patrol, Bomberman discovers the Crystal Tower, in which is supposed to be the evil monster Crator. However Crator, and the crystals used to keep Crator imprisoned, have gone missing. Bomberman then receives a radio message from Dr. Ein that the evil [[BigBad Mr. Meanie]][[hottip:*:"Mujoe" in Japan; they would stick with Mujoe in later American releases]] has unleashed Crator, and it is now up to him to find the crystals and crush Mr. Meanie.
