* StopHelpingMe: There are battles where you are assisted by guest characters that are controlled by AI. If you're trying to Skill Crack a particular enemy, you better get to them fast or this will get very annoying.

** The names of the competing bidders in the Demon Auction are characters from previous ''Franchise/ShinMegamiTensei'' games. Surprisingly, a lot of the names come from ''SoulHackers'', which [[NoExportForYou wasn't even localised]]! In addition, the Occult level users are all previous [[HelloInsertNameHere Heroes/Protagonists]].
*** ''SoulHackers'' is indeed getting localized for the 3DS.

* NoExportForYou: Was never released outside of Japan and North America. Since the DS is region-free importing is perfectly possible, though.
** Averted regarding Overclocked. Ghostlight is taking care of that one in Europe. However, they somehow managed to introduce a brand new GameBreakingBug. Kind of a fail considering the delay between releases.

* JerkassHasAPoint: During Amane's 8th Day, you are confronted by [[spoiler: a [[CompleteMonster: psychotic cop]] who is about to murder an innocent woman ForTheEvulz. At this point, you can summon the angels, [[PayEvilUntoEvil kill him with demons]], or try to talk some sense into him. If you do the latter, the cop with laugh you off before shooting the woman, at which the point the angels will [[DynamicRescue swoop in]], save the woman, and kill the cop, all while admonishing you [[WhatTheHellHero for attempting to reason with such a monster and placing an innocent in danger through your altruism.]]

* SensibleHeroesSkimpyVillains: In Amane's case at least. What better way to show the her clones, created by [[spoiler:Jezebel]], are evil than giving them a naughty grin and zipping open the robe Amane wears, revealing some [[AbsoluteCleavage impressive cleavage]].

* HumansAreBastards: As time wears on in the locked-down loop, people start to ''snap''.

* TakeOverTheWorld: [[spoiler: What the Protagonist does on Naoya's Evil 8th Day. Supported by the masses he conquers all the nations of the world and eventually the borders between nations will be meaningless]].

** Fan art often portrays the Main Character with one.

** [[spoiler:Law and Chaos are two of the darker endings in the main game, but in Overclocked, you have the ability to make them into happier endings. The only time Chaos becomes a BittersweetEnding or DownerEnding is when you decide to kill humans instead of helping them on the eighth day.]]

** [[spoiler: And even this ending comes with a disclaimer from Heaven courtesy of Metatron you still have the power of Bel, and they WILL kill you if you ever turn evil and use it, otherwise, you are congratulated for your willingness to forsake said power.]]
** [[spoiler: Law and Chaos are two of the darker endings in the main game, but in Overclocked, they both become happy endings.]]

** And now there's a glitch in the European version of Devil Survivor Overlocked which locks up the game when you try to summon a demon after one of your demons has been killed. Especially ridiculous considering the long delay of the release.

** Averted regarding Overclocked. Ghostlight is taking care of that one in Europe.

* BigDamnHeroes: Thanks to the Laplace Mail, you can pull this off several times. Midori is also addicted to the ''idea'' of being a Big Damn Hero, and teaches those same values to [[spoiler: Black Frost. And if you bail ''him'' out with a Big Damn Heroes moment, he returns the favor later on.]]

** [[spoiler: Even Yuzu's ending becomes happy in Overclocked, where, upon being faced with this horrific world, the characters decide to atone, and fight anyway...turning it into a happy ending]]

** And in ''Overclocked'', [[spoiler: three scenarios are given 8th days that make them into the classic Law/Neutrality/Chaos trefoil. Amane for Law, Yuzu for Neutrality, Naoya for Chaos.]]
*** Further split given that [[spoiler:Naoya]]'s 8th day gets a good version and an evil version of the basic [[spoiler: King of Demons world conquest]] thing.

*** Overclocked subverts the trop with the [[spoiler: Yuzu]] ending with the 8th Day scenario for the route, which has you [[spoiler: make up for your mistake, which had HUGE consequences. It clearly ends on a positive note for humanity.]]

*** [[spoiler: Amusingly, ignoring this warning results in a better ending if you go for the 8th day. Just be prepared for a few [[WhatTheHellHero chewing-outs.]]]]

** Subverted by the 8th Day of the same route, which shows the repercusions of your acts, and involves taking responsiblity for them.

** Since Suzuhito Yasuda is behind the designs of both games, some characters, such as Gin will remind you of other characters he designed, such as [[Durarara certain bartender with super strength]]

* SNKBoss: [[spoiler: Lucifer]] is one of the hardest [[BonusBoss Bonus Bosses]] of the franchise, being pretty much impossible to defeat without RIDICULOUS preparation (we're talking about full level 99 custom teams, which takes '''days''' of intense LevelGrinding)... And even then, there's still an very large probability you'll lose. [[spoiler: Lucifer]] on his own is ''extremely'' tough (where, if this was all it came to, mean you'd need one or two teams almost completely dedicated to healing and resurrecting), but he's accompanied by infinitely respawning teams of incredibly powerful demons (among them [[DemonicSpiders Decarabias, Ariochs]] and even freakin' ''Astaroth'') [[TheComputerIsACheatingBastard with computer-only boosted attributes, not stats,]] '''[[TheComputerIsACheatingBastard attributes]]''', has three phases with different skills each and every time he changes phase, he becomes fully healed. And [[FromBadToWorse it gets much worse. [[OhCrap Your face will be worth a million dollar shot when you see the words]] ''[[ThatOneAttack Megidoladyne]]'' [[ThisIsGonnaSuck appear in your screen.]] Hell, it's so bad that you pretty much have to use a GameBreaker strategy to beat him.

[[VideoGame/DevilSurvivor2 A sequel]] has been released for the original DS, and it too will involve something predicting the events of the day, a 7-day time limit and MultipleEndings.

* IJustWantToBeNormal: Yuzu didn't ask to be dragged into this chaos. And she reminds you of this at very opportunity. (Not that this isn't {{Justified|Trope}}, mind you...)

* FlunkyBoss: Beldr's battle. Many people have trouble with those goddamn Cait Siths and their goddamn Vidofnir buddies with Petra Eyes and their goddamn Mazan spell that will kill anyone with petrification. Oh, and don't forget the goddamn healing capabilities that they often use on Beldr if you don't kill them. Did we mention [[ItGotWorse the boss just turns around and resurrects them at full health and mana if you do kill them]]?
