** Narrowly avoided by Rat-a-Tat-Tat in the IDW comics, who would have been named "Volver" if his writer, James Roberts (who's British) hadn't said it out loud a couple of times and realised how close it sounded to "vulva".
** Perhaps the biggest instance of this trope in the franchise is the PlanetEater, GodOfEvil, and GreaterScopeVillain [[http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Unicron Unicron]] himself, whose name is only one letter swap away from [[http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Unicorn Unicorn]]. This has been mocked several times throughout the franchise, with ''WesternAnimation/TransformersPrime'' doing it twice.

** Diamond Tiara's father, who insists that everyone call him Rich. That's because the first half of his name is "Filthy". Luckily he has all those bags of money to make him feel better about, well, ''being named Filthy''.
*** It could be worse. His grandfather's first name was ''Stinking''. And he [[SelfMadeMan wasn't born]] [[PunnyName Rich]], either.
*** And his wife is called ''SPOILED MILK''. At least she changed it to Spoiled Rich when she married him. Someone needs to explain the trends of naming in Equestria.
** The former editor of the Foal Free Press was named Namby Pamby, which means "lacking courage".

* WesternAnimation/{{Pingu}}'s sister's name is ''Pinga''. The word is probably meaningless in its original Swiss French and the show was produced years before Pinga as a sexual slang entered mainstream North American English.

** Numbuh 86's given name, '''Fanny''' Fullbright. Which is unfortunate in two ways, being she's Scottish. To surmise, her name means "Butt" in American slang and ''Vagina'' in UK slang.
* The Kanker sisters from ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'', named after canker sores, have a surname that is the exact word for 'cancer' in Dutch, as in the disease. As if that's not bad enough, the way cursing in Dutch works, it can be an expletive, and can upset people who lost loved ones to it. It was quite sensibly changed in the dub to the more thematically appropriate 'Drammer' (pushy).
** Edd is a somewhat feminine boy and it's even worse with an EmbarrassingNickname like [[GagBoobs Double D]].
* ''WesternAnimation/InspectorGadget'' is one that is older than Methuselah. It's a fine name in its own right but it sounds a wee bit too much like "inspect her gadget", ''especially'' during the opening theme song.
* ''WesternAnimation/MonsterMash2000'' had Drac, Frank and Wolf tasked to prove they still had what it takes to be scary by frightening a human family called the Tinklemeisters.
