* SleeperHit: The film was created with the sole purpose of being quick and cheap to make, hoping to imitate the success of the recent SleeperHit ''Film/ValleyGirl''. Fox took the role simply because he could fit the brief shoot into a break in his ''Series/FamilyTies'' schedule. The film cost about $1.2 million and grossed $80 million, spawning a cash-in sequel, a [[Series/TeenWolf television series]] and a DistaffCounterpart film ''Film/TeenWitch'' .

* DirectedByCastMember: Creator/TylerPosey directed season 6 episode "After Images".

* ProducedByCastMember: Tyler Posey (Scott) was a producer for season 5 and 6.

** Dr. Fenris, a character who first appeared on a web series spinoff and in Season 4 also appears on the show, is played by John Posey, Tyler Posey's father. John Posey had also played another doctor on Teen Wolf in Season 1.

* FakeNationality: Korean American Arden Cho plays Japanese American Kira Yukimura.

** Charlie Carver as Ethan (both gay).

** Lydia actress Holland Roden dated Max Carver, who played her onscreen love-interest Aiden.

* MeanCharacterNiceActor: Spoiled and snotty (initially) Jackson, played by the down-to-earth and friendly Colton Haynes.

** Dylan O'Brien and Arden Cho were set to reprise their respective roles as Stiles and Kira were set to return in the Paramount+ film but it never materialised due to contract negotations between O'Brien and the producers breaking down and Cho realising that she would get paid less than some of her co-stars.

* DawsonCasting: Although not as egregious as the main cast of some other shows set in high school, the only actor in the main cast who portrayed a character his own age in the beginning was Tyler Hoechlin, who was 23 when he started as Derek. It's only gotten worse, as the show advances only about a quarter as fast as real life. At the time they first started portraying 16- and 17-year-olds, the actors were:

** Dylan Sprayberry (Liam) is the only exception then if an example a very downplayed one; despite being possibly the most [[OlderThanTheyLook muscular]] of all of the main cast, Sprayberry was 16 when he got the part of 15 year old Liam and was 19 when the show concluded.

* MeanCharacterNiceActor: In the movie, abrasive bully Mick is played by the sweet and mild-mannered Mark Arnold.
