* AdoredByTheNetwork: Creator/CartoonNetwork brought the show back for reruns in August 2017. It was originally at 6am but for some reason (possibly decent ratings), the show was moved to 5pm on weekdays which is basically CN's primetime. It got to the point where there were nearly just as much reruns as ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo'' which the network has an [[AdoredByTheNetwork/TeenTitansGo infamous obsession]] with. At one point in 2018, weekends were basically dedicated to nothing but this show, ''Teen Titans Go!'' and later ''WesternAnimation/{{Unikitty}}''.

* UnfinishedDub: The German dub only covered the first two seasons.

* ExecutiveMeddling: Arguably one of the worst victims in comics for some reason, despite only being a huge seller in one era. Virtually every single writer (since at least the '90s) has come off the book complaining about this in some way, to the point where it's obviously not just making excuses as to why their runs sucked (most of the time, anyways). The short list:

** Mumbo Jumbo is magic, but he's a magician, not [[WesternAnimation/BanjoKazooie a witch doctor]].

** Because of the NeverSayDie trope, Deathstroke was forced to be called by his first name, Slade (except in foreign dubs). [[TropesAreNotBad It may have been a good idea]], as it is often considered more enigmatic and badass than his [[DarkAgeOfSupernames original name]]. Could even be almost seen as an in joke, most of the first season revolves around "Who is Slade?". That in mind, try not to get a chuckle when you think that he's been running around using his real first name all this time.

* FollowTheLeader: [[TropesAreTools A positive example, since the New Teen Titans were arguably the high point of the title.]] Still - take two up-and-coming talents from Marvel, and give them a Sixties team that has potential but not much success. Keep some of the original cast, and add a more varied group of newcomers. Include a character that debuted in another title and looks to become a breakout star (named Logan, for bonus points) and [[Comicbook/XMen what have you got?]].

* ScrewedByTheMerchandise: There's no official stance on why season 6 was cancelled (or even if it was ever planned), however one theory given by someone who worked for the show was that it partially involved low toy sales.

** Scott Menville voices the Witch in "Cyborg the Barbarian".
** In every appearance except "Titans Together", Lauren Tom voices Gizmo (who is voiced there by Creator/TaraStrong, thus still fitting the trope).

** Gizmo and Jinx are both voiced by Lauren Tom (except in "Titans Together", where they are voiced by Creator/TaraStrong instead and still have a brief scene together).

** In Venezuela, Robin and Beast Boy were both voiced by Ezequiel Serrano.

** Also averted, since Mad Mod was voiced by Creator/MalcolmMcDowell.

* BigNameFan: An artist named Gabriel Picolo came to prominence in the fandom late in TheNewTens for his top-notch art, especially including his [=BBRae=] and [=RobStar=] pieces, which have inspired a number of cosplays of his version of the characters. [[PromotedFanboy He was later announced as the artist for a new YA-targeted DC Comic]].

** Before the show materialized as ''Teen Titans'', it was originally proposed as an adaptation of ''Comicbook/YoungJustice'', the successor to the Teen Titans in the comics (which was actually made because the then-recent ''Teen Titans'' comic, or "Titans", was met with terrible reception). Ultimately, it didn't pan out, one of the reasons being that much of the complete roster for Young Justice consists of {{Legacy Character}}s [[note]]the roster has included Robin III, Superboy II, Impulse (Bart Allen II), Wonder Girl II, Lil Lobo, and Batgirl IV[[/note]] and they feared this would likely be too confusing for non-comic readers, especially the kids the show was ostensibly meant for, and having to manage all these legacies would probably also be difficult for the writers. Hence, the ''Teen Titans'' we know today was born. While ''Young Justice'' would eventually get its own [[WesternAnimation/YoungJustice adaptation]] that was well-received, it takes some [[InNameOnly creative liberties]] with the source material. One can only wonder what ''Young Justice'' would've been if the original pitch made it through.

* In the first episode, Slade is seen being served tea by a butler. The Butler is named Wintergreen, and he was Slade's regular sidekick in the comics. He was most likely added to the first episode with the intention of developing into the same role in the cartoon, but was then dropped in favor of Slade working alone.
* ActorAllusion:
** In his first appearance, Mad Mod (voiced by Creator/MalcolmMcDowell) claims that "nothing teaches discipline and respect like [[Film/AClockworkOrange a brain-erasing trance.]]" Well, the line from the movie is "brain-erasing drugs," but it ''is'' a kids' show. He even uses TheLudovicoTechnique.
** The quote "You're just jealous 'cause I sound like a rock star" is a nod to Creator/GregCipes' actual career as a reggae-ska rock singer. On top of that, Cipes has lived on a vegan diet since age 8, and actually is a professional surfer, so he fits with Beast Boy's [[TotallyRadical lingo.]]
** The hero of the ''Franchise/StarWars'' ShoutOut in "Episode 257-494" is voiced by Creator/JamesArnoldTaylor, a.k.a. [[WesternAnimation/StarWarsCloneWars Obi-Wan]] [[WesternAnimation/StarWarsTheCloneWars Kenobi]][[note]]Though at the time ''Teen Titans'' was airing, only ''Star Wars: Clone Wars'' was aired as ''Star Wars: The Clone Wars'' came a few years later.[[/note]].
** Kid Flash is voiced by Creator/MichaelRosenbaum, who voiced the [[WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague adult Flash]].
** Lightning is voiced by Creator/QuintonFlynn, whose StarMakingRole was also [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid2SonsOfLiberty as a man]] [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4GunsOfThePatriots codenamed]] [[VideoGame/MetalGearRisingRevengeance "Lightning"]].
