** Tip of the iceberg, it seems; increased censorship from Sony on all of their games in both America and Japan has caused Takaki to "seriously reconsider" how fanservice is dealt with from the seventh game onward.

** Infamously, Takaki's original draft for ''Burst'' ended with a KillEmAll ending.

* ScrewedByTheLawyers: Initially the ''Manga/IkkiTousen'' characters were not available in the overseas and other Asian versions of ''Estival Versus'' due to the rights issues. There existed retextured versions of the characters, but only so that overseas players can still battle against those in Japan using them and are not available for download. The characters have since (when the PC versions were released) been made available, where they become available in all platforms, albeit with a slight name change (using the names of the people they were based on rather than their actual names).

** ''Burst Re-newal'', due to it's reusing of assets to remake an earlier game, has been referred to by fans (particularly on the Western side) as ''Senran Kagura: [[VideoGame/Yakuza1 Kiwami]]''.

* BleachedUnderpants: The Guren no Hibi manga is drawn by Aoi Nanabu (Circle name BLUEMAGE), an artist known for doing hentai doujin with very shapely characters (perfect fit for Senran Kagura). An interesting note is that one of his favorite characters is [[VideoGame/{{touhou}} Yuuka]], whom Hikage resembles considerably. It's believed a contract is stopping him from doing doujins of the series.

* FanNickname: Femtaro, Jotits, or Daijotaro for Daidouji, since her transformed state is essentially one giant expy of [[Manga/JojosBizarreAdventure Jotaro Kujo]].

* NamesTheSame: ''Senran Kagura'' borrows a lot of names common to Ninja legends. But this entry is not about that. The ending theme of the anime adaptation is titled '''Fighting Dreamer''', which is one word shy of an opening theme of [[Manga/{{Naruto}} a certain famous ninja anime.]]

** Some of the New Wave shinobi are actually scrapped concepts of the main casts.

* TrollingCreator: We have Takaki to thank for the cognitive dissonance of the franchise: half slices-of-life/moe comedy and big breasts, and half [[DarkerAndEdgier serious]] view on the world of shinobis. Three guess on which half is pointed to by the marketing?
** This dichotomy may have its sources in the videogame staff: While producer Takaki is the most enthusiastic one for promoting fanservice content in the franchise, author Yukinori Kitajima (who penned the original story) is known for his taste in stories that can sometimes border on the dark and edgy (most famously a visual novel called 428, and he collaborated on the scenario of VisualNovel/NineHoursNinePersonsNineDoors; obviously, Okamiden doesn't count).
** Due to this, the series' is essentially split into two parts, the DS series which focuses on the main story, and the Playstation and PC series which focuses on the fanservice.
