* TeethClenchedTeamwork: [[BadassInDistress Edward]] and [[AntiHero Eria]] work together to defeat [[MonsterOfTheWeek Amelia]] in [[spoiler: Chapter 41]]. Before the battle, [[ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend Ed]] irritably claims to [[ShadowArchetype Eria]] that he would rather rip [[LoveInterest Orihime's]] [[spoiler: [[SoulFragment soul]]]] right out of her and put it back in its rightful owner, but begrudging admits that [[EnemyMine they have bigger problems]].
** It is later revealed that the [[spoiler: [[SevenDeadlySins homunculi]] and [[ArtificialHumans mod souls]]]] relationship is this. The [[WordOfGod author]] claimed that their relationship is [[OpportunisticBastard purely opportunistic]].

* TheyreCalledPersonalIssuesForAReason: Invoked by Orihime. [[spoiler: When Ed [[DarkAndTroubledPast finally tells her]] about the [[GoneHorriblyWrong his and Al's bodies]], [[KnewItAllAlong Orihime confesses that she already knew that]]. When a bewildered Edward asks why hasn't she said anything about it, she gently replies that she didn't want to reopen his wound. [[spoiler: [[TearJerker This makes it all the sadder when the author stated that Orihime is eventually going to have to choose between her world or their world]]]].

* TryingNotToCry: When Orihime tries desperately to dissuade Edward for getting any more involved with the [[TheMasquerade supernatural world]], it becomes increasingly difficult to hold back her tears because he keeps "killing her with kindness". Eventually she sheds a [[SingleTear Single]] TearsOfJoy when Ed wants to stay by her side, despite the danger.

* TurnTheOtherCheek: One of [[AllLovingHeroine Orihime's]] more admirable and endearing trait. While most characters are very argumentative, it takes a lot of willpower, self-discipline and heart to just let bygones be bygones.
* TwiceShy: Some of [[UnresolvedSexualTension Edward and Orihime's]] [[WillTheyOrWontThey romantic interactions come off as this]]. Ed's dorkiness and Orihime's ShrinkingViolet tendencies could be downright cutesy and endearing at times. Although, it prevents them from establishing a relationship when they constantly dance around each other. That, [[InsecureLoveInterest and]] [[HopelessSuitor other]] [[LoveTriangle factors]]...
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: Edward, Alphonse, and Orihime. [[spoiler: Originally]].
* UmbrellaOfTogetherness: [[spoiler: [[ShipTease Chapter 29]]]]. After Orihime returns from her [[LotusEaterMachine dream world]], she goes missing once again the next day. Edward goes off to look for her, and finds her standing in front of [[TragicHero Reo's]] grave. After reminiscing about everything she's been through and finally confessing of how secretly proud she is to have met Ed and Al, [[spoiler:she makes a promise to stay be the brothers' side until they get their bodies back]]. [[LuminescentBlush Edward]] doesn't say anything and offers his umbrella to her to keep her from getting [[RomanticRain rained on]].
* UnfinishedBusiness: Basically every spirit has something that's keeping them from moving on to the afterlife.
* UnknownRival:
** Ichigo is this to Edward when it comes to the LoveTriangle between Ed, Orihime, and Ichigo.
** As of [[spoiler: Chapter 34]], this is averted as Ed is now well aware Orihime is in love with Ichigo. [[SheIsNotMyGirlfriend Still remains in denial though]], but has shown [[GreenEyedMonster some signs of feeling jealous]].
