Justified as TruthInTelevision, RuleOfFunny and it just fits his characterization of BrilliantButLazy. However, for such a seemingly sharp IT department to not have any controls in place that would prevent him from having a password less than 8 characters (a lax standard in a modern work environment) is more of an goof than Mike's password.

Yeah, that\'s not what establishing a character means.

** Another Harvey one is in Bail Out when he chews Mike out about how Trevor isn't a friend and how Ray (Harvey's driver) is. He explains that he's loyal to Ray because Ray 1) asked how Harvey was after the accident at the start of the episode before doing anything else and 2) when they first met many years ago, Ray returned 3000 dollars Harvey had left in his limo. Later still, he goes into a life-threatening situation to help out Mike's friend (for Mike's benefit not his friends). All of which shows that yes, he's very manipulative, yes, he's probably a little amoral, but yes, he's also very loyal to those he believes in.
** The entire first season is really one long EstablishingCharacterMoment for Harvey.

** This is zig-zagged with Harvey. He will often use questionable and underhanded tactics to win a case or close a deal. Next, he will also go out of his way to help out an innocent person even if it jeopardizes his case. Then we see that his 'crusades' are usually motivated by his ego and he is really just showing off how great a lawyer he is, no matter the consequences. However, he seems able to sacrifice his ego if the case is really important.\\
\\We cannot be sure if he is a really good guy willing to use anything at his disposal to help others or if he just has a giant ego that won't let him accept anything but a 'perfect' outcome and all the good is just a side effect of that.
