The Great Recession of 2007-2009 is a setting, but the recession doesn't play into the narrative as much. Main characters are Rebecca, a Londoner; Janna, an American expat; Sabrina, a Canadian expat; Katrina, an Australian woman. Rebecca, Janna and Sabrina are BirdsOfAFeather (''not'' in a romantic sense) / TrueCompanions / GirlyGirl . The work uses WebcomicTime. It's not got much WorldBuilding as it's a standalone story. Has no host currently since I can't figure out where to host it yet, since here's not appropriate. This has some minor AlternateHistory changes, but is LikeRealityUnlessNoted in general.
** However, some changes are purely ArtisticLicense and CreatorThumbprint - for example, in the United Kingdom the 1987-1995 Chrysler [=LeBaron=] coupe/convertible was offered (but it's a CoolCar for one of the characters who ''drives'' one in 2007) and ArtisticLicenseGeography including a small island off Blackpool in Lancashire, that's it's own standalone local authority, plus an exclave of Middlesbrough which is near Coatham, it's on a peninsula.
** This is more SliceOfLife, although the main antagonist, Katrina, isn't really a ''bad guy'' (well, girl), she's more of an AntiVillain than ''evil''... although from the protagonists' point of view, she's unlikeable. But she ''will'' make a HeelFaceTurn. She's closest to a BigBad but unlike some BigBad characters, isn't working for or in league with anyone... more of a PunchClockVillain due to her job really.
