* AdaptationalHeroism: Trevor Fitzroy in the comics is a stone-cold killer completely beyond redemption. Here he's more of a LovableRogue who is a villain under threat of death, as opposed to comics Fitzroy who's just in it ForTheEvulz.
* AttackItsWeakPoint: The X-Men finally figure out how to defeat Nimrod, the nearly-indestructible super-Sentinel that's been hunting them. Nimrod can regenerate ''itself'' FromASingleCell, but once they destroy the time-travel device on its arm, it cannot remain in the past and is banished back to its future.

* NearVillainVictory: After killing Xavier outright in the last episode, Fitzroy almost assassinates him ''again'' in this one, along with all the other heroes.
