Fred Fredburger wakes up with a hearty "YES!" He then goes about his business, and answers the door to find that he's been summoned for jury duty, to his excitement. He makes his way to the Underworld Court, quickly getting on the nerves of a blue vampire thanks to his love of spelling his name. Fred's been summoned to serve in a custody battle - between none other than Billy and Mandy, over Grim, with Judge Roy Spleen presiding.
Billy then explains the situation to the jury: Billy's father has been offered a job in another town, and Gladys quickly jumps on the boat to leave Endsville as well. Things get hairy when Billy tries to take Grim with him, and Mandy refuses. On Grim's suggestion, they've taken it to court - though not without Fred continuously interrupting the proceedings regarding cookies and other inane nonsense.
Fred gets back at it, and asks for the Judge's hammer-thingy… err, gavel. He resorts to simply stealing it and begins hammering the wall before eventually returning it to the Judge. Irwin is called to the stand, but is of little help to either party as both Billy and Mandy bully him. Fred picks that moment to announce that he needs to pee, and Judge calls a recess for Fred's pee break. Cue commercials.
When we get back, Irwin has been tossed into the same cage as Grim. Mandy offers a settlement deal to Billy - give her Grim and Billy gets a bundle of shrunken monkey heads. Billy refuses, and Mandy calls up her first witness: Jeff the Spider. Billy's horrible parenthood is made evident very quickly, not just by Jeff's testimony, but Billy begins attacking Jeff in front of everyone. Lil' Porkchop, similarly traumatized by Billy's care, is also called. Wiggy-Jiggy-Jed's hat is also shown as evidence of Billy's negligence. Fred begs for the hat, and is eventually shut up when he's given the hat.
Billy then calls a horde of witnesses to testify against Mandy - including Mindy, her own parents, Eris, Scooby-Doo, and a baby. Tensions boil over and Mandy and Billy get into a ferocious fight. As the Judge breaks it up, Fred asks for nachos, and the courtroom soon erupts… into a musical number over who should get Grim.
… Which Fred ends when he announces he needs to poop. An exasperated Judge grants his request, and tries to wrap it up before Fred gets back. The jury soon votes in favor of Mandy getting Grim, only for one of the jurors to eat one of the others voting for Mandy, resulting in a tie. Which can only be resolved by Fred. Fred only answers the question of custody with a simple "yes", which the Judge interprets as a heartfelt statement that the main trio shouldn't be separated due to their close friendship. Moved, the Judge puts Billy's family under house arrest, preventing them from ever moving.
