* Varrick and Zhu Li go to prison together, and both share a cell -- [[ThereIsOnlyOneBed with only one bed]].

* The ending comes as close to confirming a romance between Korra and Asami as possible without an actual kiss. While the wedding is still going on, Korra and Asami have a heart-to-heart talk with Asami admitting that she wants a vacation. Korra then offers to take Asami anywhere she wants and it'll only be the two of them, and Asami suggests that they visit the Spirit World because she always wanted to see what it is like. At the portal site, in the final scene of the show, they hold hands, walk into the new Spirit Portal, and then put all four of their hands together, turn to face each other, and [[HeldGaze lovingly gaze at each other]] as they teleport away.
** The fact that the scene is a major InternalHomage to the end of the previous series, where Katara and Aang had their BigDamnKiss, probably isn't a coincidence either.
** [[http://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/post/105916338157/korrasami-is-canon-you-can-celebrate-it-embrace It's not ambiguous]] [[WordOfGay anymore]].
** As Korra and Asami are watching the Spirit Portal after the wedding, the mountains in the background [[http://ilovekorrasami.tumblr.com/post/105615855842/flag-of-bisexuality-you-see-that-the appear as dark pink, violet and dark blue]], the colors of the bisexual pride flag.
** Interestingly, as per Bryan's post above, it wasn't so much "getting crap past the radar" as it was "[[MundaneSolution politely asking the radar's operators for permission and getting it]]."

* Korra talks one of the new airbenders down off of a bridge in a scene that functions identically to her talking down someone who is on the verge of [[DrivenToSuicide attempting suicide.]] It's possible that he got up there by accident, given the context of the scene, but it doesn't really come across that way given the actual dialogue.

** He actually used the phrase "Varrick'd himself" as a euphemism for "killed himself." And it's not entirely clear that he didn't actually intend to blow himself up.

martini.
* According to the commentary track for Book 3, the Earth Queen's death required a bit of radar-dodging... not because of the graphic on-screen suffocation, but because the censors were unwilling to let anyone say she was actually dead. The solution? Have the radio broadcaster say that her "reign has come to an abrupt and violent end" and show Mako's grandmother saying, "may she rest in peace."

Added DiffLines:

** A storyboard artist claimed that Mako wasn't intended to have killed Ming-Hua, but one of the co-creators heavily implied in a commentary track that we actually saw her die on-screen.

* The berry vomit scene. Why does Meelo get a VomitDiscretionShot but his flying lemur Poki not only gets a VomitIndiscretionShot [[CrossesTheLineTwice but then]] [[{{Squick}} eats his own vomit]]? Probably on the technicality that Poki isn't a depiction of a human. Also note that even despite the discretion shot, Meelo still has vomit-stained teeth in the aftermath. It really looks like the storyboarders and animators got away with as much as they could have concerning the grossness of the scene.
