Minmay begins to sing, knowing that music and culture in general has the effect of soothing Zentradi. At first, Kamujin and Laplamiz react in horror and fascination as if the song is having an effect on them, before slamming the table, gloating that they were putting on an act and [[WhamShot kissing]], declaring they can produce their own [[IsThatWhatTheyreCallingItNow culture]].

The main character, Ainz, along with his dozen or so subordinates is infinitely times more powerful than even the God-tier level magic of New World, bar other high-level players who also crossed over. One notable instance is his fight with Clementine, a {{sadist}} who relished in torturing and No Selling enemies herself, yet compared to Ainz is so weak that he purposefully spends their entire fight severely handicapping his powers. Once he decides he's [[LetsGetDangerous done playing around with her]], he considers her so worthless that, rather than using magic to kill her, simply gives her a [[CruelAndUnusualDeath giant bearhug]] [[PayEvilUntoEvil until he crushes her to death.]]
* As part of his NighInvulnerability, Saitama of ''Webcomic/OnePunchMan'' is effectively invincible. He often ignores most attempts to hurt him -- sometimes not even acknowledging he's being attacked. In one instance he was kicked into space and crashed into the moon. He simply held his breath, picked himself up, and ''jumped back to Earth''. When he lands he is totally unharmed from the blow that launched him into space, and his trips to and from the moon and simply says "Oh! I made it." In the end his totally inability to get hurt only serves to depress him, because at his current level of ridiculous power, even the most dangerous, planet destroying powerful beings simply pose no challenge to him whatsoever.

** Almost any Logia Fruit user worth their salt is able to No Sell almost any attack that isn't Haki enhanced (or isn't of a element that trumps the Logia's element) by turning into their constituent element. A skilled Logia user can even No Sell attacks that ''are'' Haki enhanced by simply shapeshifting their body around it, as seen when Aokiji creates a hole in his ice body for Whitebeard's Haki-embued [[BladeOnAStick bisento]] to pass through, leaving the non-Haki wielding observes to briefly think Whitebeard had struck a fatal blow.

** Taken to absurd levels with the Dragons themselves. As everyone found out, anything short of Dragon Slayer magic did ''nothing'' to them, even if the person was a Wizard Saint. Even ''with'' Dragon Slayer magic, the effects still are far from noticeable unless it's sufficiently powered, [[spoiler:and the Black Dragon Acnologia, as mentioned above, takes it UpToEleven with presumably how since magic itself is his element, even extremely powerful magic won't hurt him]]. The only other hope you have is sheer physical power such that only another dragon could reasonably hope to unleash [[spoiler:as shown with Igneel and Acnologia ripping into each other]].

** The Quincies have Blut (Blood Guise). By making reishi flows in their blood vessels, they drastically their defensive power to the point a point-blank Getsuga Tensho to the neck or a Bankai's attack doesn't leave a scratch. It can also stop bleeding or make it look like a broken neck is a casual wound.

** Shortly after its capture, Iris' Dragonite demonstrates how strong it is when it takes multiple Ice attacks head-on without slowing down, despite its typing making it extremely weak to Ice moves.
** Iris' battle against Drayden had his Druddigon no-selling Iris' Dragonite's Ice Beam and Dragon Rush. [[ElementalRockPaperScissors As a Dragon-type, Druddigon should have taken increased damage from ''both'' of those attacks]].

** When Ichigo attempts to attack [[spoiler:Yhwach]] in Bankai, his Bankai suffers this from [[spoiler: aschwalth]] who not only one-shots Ichigo's bankai, but even breaks Tensa Zangetsu in half in the process.

** The ain reason that [[spoiler:[[BigBad Neo demon]]]] is so hard to kill is the fact that he can eat [[ExtremeOmnivore virtually everything, including enemy attacks]]. So far, he managed to eat [[spoiler:attack that can stop the Earth, attack, that sends ripples trough Earth, several giant meteorites and even tiny supernova, capable of destroying the planet]]. One time he [[spoiler: got swallowed by Mother Snake and simply drank all her stomach acid before it was able to dissolve him]]. And even when he not eating the attack, he still can take ridiculous amounts of damage -- even attack, that punches him through entire planet ''several times'', only lightly bloodied him up.

** During the early parts of the East Blue saga, Luffy shrugs off blunt force with the phrase, "That won't work on me, I'm a rubberman." Over time, his enemies tend to 1) realize earlier that blunt force and guns won't work on him and switch tactics accordingly, 2) supply enough blunt force to actually hurt him, albeit less than he should be, (Shadows Asgard, Rokuougan), or 3) use Haki to get past his Devil Fruit power. However, at times, his powers work to protect him, such as when he survives human form Lucci's Shigan aimed at the neck because he is a rubber man.

** Buggy, one of the weakest pirates in the series, can No Sell any sword strike whether it's embedded with Haki or not. Not even Hawk-Eye can cut him. Or rather, no one can ''hurt him'' by cutting because his Chop-Chop powers mean he can break up into as many pieces as he wants. Cutting him just splits him into more pieces. WordOfGod also states that he's also immune to Doflamingo's Bird Cage, as he can simply split himself up and slip out.

** In Dressrosa Sanji was able to No Sell Viola's [[{{Telepathy}} Peeping Mind]] thanks being so [[DirtyMindReading filthy minded that she was stricken]], effectively preventing her from reading his thoughts for infortmation on his crew.
** In the "3D2Y" special, two of the villains are able to resist Boa Hancock's "Mero Mero" powers. Sebastian is blind and as such, can't see Hancock's beauty. Timeian is able to ingest extremely bitter herbal medicines to resist Hancock's powers [[spoiler:but in the end, she gets defeated and [[TakenForGranite turned to stone]] all the same]]. Luffy in the main series is also entirely immune due to being too oblivious to her stunning looks and charms.

** Luffy manages to land a heavy barrage Gear Fourth punches on [[spoiler:Kaido in his dragon form, drunk off his ass and partially passed out]]. One that would've likely put some actual hurt on a Marine Admiral, and of the sort not even Katakuri wanted to try and tank. All that achieved was ''sobering him up from annoyance''.

** Stein No Sells in his first appearance where he negates Black*Star's [[KiManipulation Ki Attacks]] and [[BarehandedBladeBlock caught]] Maka and Soul's Witch Hunt. According to both Shinigami and Stein himself, this is due to changing his own Soul Wavelength to counter and cancel out his opponent's in the former case, and while such an ability is incredibly difficult to master, there's a reason Stein is known as a mad genius. The latter is due to his own toughness.
** Also Asura No Sells Black*Star's Ki Attacks as well. Heck, in the final battle he shrugs off everything Kid in True Shinigami form, Black*Star using the full extent of his strength, Maka and Soul as a Death Scythe/Meister, Marie, Stein, and Azusa can hit him with. Only a handful of attacks even reach his skin.

* Often used in ''Manga/{{Toriko}}''. However three characters do this particularly often:
** Midora no sells almost anything, that gets thrown on him, including opponents ability to [[TimeMaster manipulate time]]. [[spoiler:[[TheDragon Joie]]]] at first wasn't even be able to put a scratch on him, and after he lowered his defenses enough to cut him in pieces, his regenerative abilities kicked in, allowing him to reattach his cut off limbs, ''before they fall off''. In the end [[spoiler: he had to seal him, since he was unkillable. And ''even this didn't work'']].
** Later in the story Midora manage to take it even further, by [[spoiler:copying Joie's [[WindsOfDestinyChange Gourmet luck]]]]. After that, most attacks stopped working on him [[spoiler:simply because he was really lucky]]. Because of this, in his final showdown with Joie, he simply [[spoiler:stood there and reminisced about how much he loved his adoptive mother, while Joie attacked him with everything he got, leaving only a couple of scratches.]]

When a dark magician tries to use mind control powers on Maria, a light magic user, it turns out that light magic grants immunity to dark magic. Dark magic's emotional manipulation also fails against Katarina because to make someone crazy with jealousy they need to feel at least a little bit of it first and then amplify it, but Katarina feels no such thing (all other dark magic works just fine on her though).

** ''Manga/MobileSuitGundam0083Rebellion'': The Neue Ziel is an immense powerhouse of a machine with an [[DeflectorSheilds I-Field]] to repel beam attacks and thick armor that standard munitions can barely scratch. The 90mm machine gun's that most units have do next to nothing to it and it takes what is essentially a mini rail gun to punch through the armor. The Cime fleet even busts out the chain mine from ''[[Anime/MobiltSuitGundam0080WarInThePocket 0080]]'' and while that tears a gash in the armor the beast keeps going.

*** A mutual example in Goku's fight with Fat Buu. First, Goku took a direct punch to the face by Fat Buu after he went Super Saiyan 3. Goku only smiled, followed by an amused Buu giving a slightly surprised ReactionShot. Up until that point, no one was able to withstand even one of Buu's hits. Then, Goku follows it up by grabbing Buu's head tentacle and punching him in the face over a dozen times consecutively before tossing him away- which ''also'' results in Buu just smiling after with no signs of harm. Goku mentally admits in a shocked tone that he didn't hurt Buu at all.

That's right, the villain who killed two major superheroes in one blow and gave two others a real run for their money was so weak by comparison that the recoil of hitting the guy killed him. And Budo was holding back. Budo then took finisher attacks from other heroes without flinching at all, even moves that would have defeated major villains from the previous arcs. [[spoiler:In fact, it took THREE supreme attacks to finally defeat him.]]

** Ishida had a chance to fight the Espada, Szayel in Hueco Mundo - too bad that Szayel in question ''just happened to be'' immune to Quincy powers... in fact, he claimed he could make himself resistant to ''any'' powers, [[AwesomenessByAnalysis provided he got a chance to study them beforehand]].
** Mayuri later does the exact same thing to the Espada.
** The villain of a filler arc had the power to negate all Shinigami powers, even the Head Captain's. [[ThisLooksLikeAJobForAquaman Conveniently]], Ichigo has Hollow powers he can use instead, making him the only one who can fight back. [[spoiler:Nevermind that the Head Captain has amply demonstrated that [[BroughtDownToBadass he doesn't need his powers to beat you down]].]]
** [[BigBad Aizen]] does this a lot, even in the face of ever more powerful attacks directed his way by the heroes. For a while, his favorite phrase was "That ''would'' have worked on me before I [[AdaptiveAbility evolved]]"
** Post-[[TrainingFromHell Dangai]] Ichigo pulled Aizen's stunt on Aizen himself, brushing off his most powerful attacks like they were nothing and forcing Aizen to [[AdaptiveAbility evolve]] two more times to even put a scratch on him. In fact, Ichigo got hit with this hard when Getsuga Tensho became SoLastSeason.
** The Arrancar have an ability called Hierro that makes their skin extremely hard, Nnoitra possessing the strongest of all. After Chad uses an attack to critically injure a former Espada's [[OneWingedAngel released form]], Nnoitra is completely unaffected by the same move. He later goes on to shrug off several hits from Ichigo's bankai.
** Ulquiorra bitch slaps Benihime's (Urahara's zanpakuto) shikai ability out of the way. The same special ability that just seconds ago negated Yammy's cero. Keep in mind Urahara's abilities are [[spoiler:captain level]].
** Charlotte's strength and speed is so great Yumichika is thrown around like a ragdoll during their fight until Charlotte activates his FinishingMove. As soon as Yumichika realizes the killer rosebush has completely isolated him from the rest of the battlefield, he promptly throws off Charlotte, activates his CoverBlowingSuperpower and curb-stomps Charlotte. Not only does he completely ignore the rosebush that's supposed to kill him, but Charlotte's strength and speed is now utterly negated the moment Yumichika stops being WillfullyWeak.

[[spoiler:The reason for this is that she is able to temporarily freeze the molecules in her body at anywhere from -1 degrees to absolute zero. As a result of this, she is technically not alive, and therefore cannot feel emotion.]] Cue the curb-stomping.
* One of the examples where the hero frequently benefits is in ''Manga/NegimaMagisterNegiMagi'', whose protagonist regularly shrugs off attacks and abilities far beyond other characters, through dint of good power and good training. Exemplified by Jack Rakan, who at one point [[spoiler: takes a massive chain of specialized, unique attacks dead-on, culminating in being run through on a titan-slayer lance and left pinned.]] He promptly removes the obstruction and stands back up ''smiling''.
** And then he manages to [[spoiler:will himself back into being after being ''erased from existence. Twice!'']]
** An earlier incident had Madoka attempting to slap Kotaro after he accidentally walked in on Ako while she was changing. He blocks the slap, so she [[MegatonPunch punches him in the face]]. His reaction is a completely deadpan "Ow."
** A humorous interlude in which everyone is confessing their worries and Makie's only problem is that she can't think of any worries turns out to foreshadow her [[spoiler:being completely unaffected by "Poyo"'s LotusEaterMachine artifact]]. The funny part about that is the other character who no-sells the same spell: [[spoiler:the resident complainer Chisame]].
** Also Asuna's trademarked and [[GameBreaker absolutely broken]] innate [[AntiMagic Magic Cancel]]. As in, she's immune to anything but beneficial magic, and this is especially notorious when she's walking through a gigantic Great Magic mine and canceling it around her as she goes.

* [[spoiler: Ghost, the last Real Funeral Wreath,]] in ''Manga/Reborn2004''. Try to use Dying Will Flames on him results in him just absorbing them, and physical attacks aren't any more effective.
* In ''Manga/YuYuHakusho's'' [[TournamentArc Dark Tournament]] finals, during the [[LightningBruiser Bui]] vs. [[TokenEvilTeammate Hiei]] battle, [[spoiler: after Hiei absorbs the power of the [[DangerousForbiddenTechnique Dragon of the Darkness Flame]],]] he No Sells a MeteorMove.

** And then there is Donquixote Doflamingo. Everything short of strongest attacks is unable to even scratch him - after Luffy attacks him in full force with both Haki and Gear Second on, he just tells him that his attacks feel like he's trying to tickle him. It takes [[spoiler:Luffy in Gear Fourth throwing him around the town]] to deal serious harm to him, and even after that he gains the upper hand, because [[spoiler:Luffy simply runs out of stamina before he's able to defeat him. Luckily, his allies come to his aid, give him the time he needs to recoup, and he ''finally'' shuts Doflamingo up with one solid Gear Fourth hit]].

* ''LightNovel/ACertainMagicalIndex''
** Touma's right hand, Imagine Breaker, lets him negate any and all things supernatural. It's not perfect--things with an outside power source, such as the fire elemental Innocentius, can regenerate faster than he can negate them--but the vast majority of the time he can just punch through any problems. Of course, if one were to, say, sever his right arm, he would be relieved of this power. Good thing Touma is the sort of person who can no-sell ''[[LaughingMad losing a]] [[Awesome/ACertainMagicalIndex freaking arm]].'' [[spoiler:In the later light novels, severing his arm just unleashes something ''worse'']].
** Terra of the Left's power is to assign numbers to people and objects. Nothing can be harmed by something of a lower number. By doing this to himself, he's practically invulnerable. This also works in reverse, allowing higher-ranked flour to slice through lower-ranked brick walls. [[spoiler:Its AchillesHeel, however, is that he can only assign numbers to two objects at once, and he has to consciously activate this power. Touma defeats him by blocking his higher-ranked flour to his lower-ranked body with a discarded shotgun, which dissipates harmlessly upon contact, and knocking him out before he can switch up numbers again. Acqua later kills Terra with a surprise attack he couldn't react to in time.]]
** The Knight Leader has a similar ability to Terra's, possessing a spell that makes the opponent's attack power change to zero. The trick is that he has to consider what's coming at him a "weapon" and he needs to have a basic understanding of what it is before casting. Also, it has no effect on spells or attacks wielded by a member of the British royal family [[spoiler:or anyone who can trace their bloodline back to it.]]
** The nature of Accelerator's [[AttackReflector power]] means that he can NoSell ''everything'' (unless your name is Touma), theoretically up to and including ''nukes''. The only things he can't automatically NoSell are things whose laws of physics don't match up with his vector calculations (such as magic or Kakine's Dark Matter) and even then if he analyzes them long enough to grasp how they work even that wouldn't be enough. In one memorable scene, Mikoto is fighting him, and it takes him a minute to even realize that she just used her most powerful attack on him.

** Aiwass is the first supernatural being to be completely unaffected by Imagine Breaker.

** When Envy boasted on how [[NoBiologicalSex it]] was the one who sparked the Ishval Civil War, thus resulting in Scar's StartOfDarkness and the demise of Winry's parents, Ed got so pissed that he calmly walked up to Envy and punched it in the face with his [[ArtificialLimbs automail arm]], which was apparently enhanced by alchemy judging by the emission of red sparks... [[spoiler: Envy simply took it and didn't budge an inch, which, in addition to [[ShapeshifterBaggage its unusual weight and deep footprints from earlier]], clues Ed in on just [[OneWingedAngel just how big Envy really is.]]]]

** Taken to absurd levels with the Dragons themselves. As everyone found out, anything short of Dragon Slayer magic did ''nothing'' to them, even if the person was a Wizard Saint. Even ''with'' Dragon Slayer magic, the effects still are far from noticeable unless it's sufficiently powered, [[spoiler:and the Black Dragon Acnologia, as mentioned above, takes it UpToEleven with presumably how since magic itself is his element, even extremely powerful magic won't hurt him]]. The only other hope you have is sheer physical power such that only another dragon could reasonably hope to unleash [[spoiler:as shown with Igneel and Acnologia ripping into each other]].
* In ''Manga/GakuenAlice'', Mikan's power [[PowerNullifier nullification Alice]] has this effect, leading to her being even unaffected by Natsume's awesomely aggressive fire powers.

* In ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'', [[spoiler:Saika]] transmits TheVirus through cutting people, adding them to its HiveMind. This doesn't work on Shizuo, because TheVirus requires that the victim be afraid of it, and Shizuo is only afraid of himself. It also didn't work on [[HeadlessHorseman Celty]], but she's technically undead, and it might not have been ''trying'' to infect her.
* The entire reason why [[Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion Evangelions]] are used to fight Angels. AT Fields are basically No Sell fields to anything without an AT field or weaponry many powers of magnitude greater than nuclear weaponry. This allowed Asuka Langley Soryu to wipe out an entire army by herself, after [[AcePilot JUST waking from a coma]], in ''End of Evangelion''.
* ''Anime/CodeGeass'' used a mecha version of this trope with the introduction of the Guren-Seiten in R2:18. Most of Kallen's strategy when she's not attacking is to simply no-sell everything the enemy throws at her. In fact, Suzaku actually breaks one of his swords when she does this.
** Toward the end of Suzaku Of the Counterattack, as BigBad [[spoiler:Schneizel]] prepares to become immortal, Lelouch tries to use Geass on him, but fails because he is now immune [[spoiler:and [[EyeScream loses his eye]] for his trouble]]. ** In a non-physical example, genjutsu gets TheWorfEffect thanks to Kabuto's Snake Sage Mode where his snake corneas prevent Sasuke and Itachi from using their Sharingan against him, because Kabuto is essentially blind and cannot make eye contact. [[spoiler: Itachi defeats him with [[AssPull Izanami]].]]
** Killer Bee [[IgnoreTheFanservice is completely unaffected by Naruto's Harem Jutsu.]]

* In ''Anime/LastExile'', the ''Silvana'' pulls this during its "[[CurbStompBattle duel]]" with the ''Goliath''.
* ''Manga/InuYasha'':
** [[EvilWeapon Toukijin]] is revealed to be so powerful it can [[DemonicPossession possess]] anyone even its own creator, resulting in not even TheProtagonist or UltimateBlacksmith from being able to approach it. They try to warn Sesshoumaru away from the sword saying it's too dangerous to touch, but he picks it up anyway. Sesshoumaru immediately chastises the sword for trying to take control of his will and the evil aura promptly vanishes in response. The UltimateBlacksmith is extremely disquieted upon seeing that Sesshoumaru's will is so powerful he didn't even have to make an effort to squash the sword's will.
** Sesshoumaru also completely no-sells Mukotsu's poison gas attacks. His primary defense, in fact, seems to be using his innate power to no-sell or his stoic nature to feign a no-sell (i.e. things like Mt Hakurei's holy shield and Tessaiga's no-youkai aura do hurt him, but he doesn't acknowledge them).
** [[NoNameGiven Madame Exorcist]] is an amateur exorcist who doesn't seem to have any powers and cannot even sense auras. However, she is completely unaffected by demonic auras, even ones that paralyze others or cause them to become angry and depressed.
* During the FinalBattle of the ultimate arc in ''[[VisualNovel/HigurashiWhenTheyCry Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai]]'', [[spoiler:a TookALevelInBadass Akasaka]] mows his way through the Yamainu goons, when their leader finally manages to land a good, solid punch straight to his ribcage. [[spoiler:Akasaka]]'s sole reaction? "How weak...", followed by a return punch that makes the Yamainu leader pass out even though it ''technically missed him by an inch''.
* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'':
** Shortly after its capture, Iris' Dragonite demonstrates how strong it is when it takes multiple Ice attacks head-on without slowing down, despite its typing making it extremely weak to Ice moves.
** Iris' battle against Drayden had his Druddigon no-selling Iris' Dragonite's Ice Beam and Dragon Rush. [[ElementalRockPaperScissors As a Dragon-type, Druddigon should have taken increased damage from ''both'' of those attacks]].
** [[spoiler:When Charizard came back he had a round with Iris's Dragonite. The guy didn’t sell anything Dragonite threw at him.]]
** In a rare case of actually adhering to the type relationships of the Pokémon games the anime/movie is based on, Ash's Pikachu's electric attacks ended up being shaken off by the Quagsire owned by the GirlOfTheWeek in the beginning of ''Anime/{{Pokemon 3}}''.
** This is especially frequent whenever legendary Pokémon show up, often crossing over with TheWorfEffect when fighting powerful friendly Pokémon. [[Anime/PokemonTheFirstMovie Mewtwo]] is capable of ignoring and redirecting a [[WaveMotionGun Hyper Beam]] back at the Gyarados who fired it at him, and [[OutOfTheInferno barely notices Charizard's Flamethrower attack]], among other feats.
** Over in ''Manga/PokemonAdventures'', [[spoiler:Pryce]], having been [[spoiler:trapped in the time stream for several years,]] is completely immune to Dialga's Roar of Time attack.
* A lot of the early events of the ''Franchise/{{Gundam}}'' metaverse paints the namesake Mobile Suits as being able to do this.
** The original ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' has the Gundam be this way, taking little to no damage from Zaku machine guns, since the Gundam's Luna Titanium armor is much stronger than the Zaku's normal titanium armor.
*** [[GoneHorriblyRight And promptly turned against him]] by Char, who, knowing his physics, starts ''kicking'' the Gundam to ricochet Amuro around the cockpit and then capture the Gundam intact once its pilot is a smear inside it (Char is driven off before Amuro's seatbelts give up, but [[TheDreaded he's now Amuro's worst nightmare]]). The following battle instead [[SubvertedTrope subverts it]], as Char this time shows up with a heat hawk that can cut through Luna Titanium armor and a bazooka that can, having been developed to penetrate ''battleship armor'' and make its warhead explode inside, can pierce the tougher but much thinner Gundam's armor like it wasn't even there.
** The Gundams of ''[[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing New Mobile Report Gundam Wing]]'' has powerful "Gundanium" armor, able to withstand anything short of a powerful Buster Rifle. Later on, there's the Planet Defensors, devices that can form a nearly impenetrable force field, tanking anything up to and including Wing Zero's Buster Rifle
** The Phase Shift Armor of ''Anime/MobileSuitGundamSEED'' was ''meant'' to be this, as [=ZAFT=] did not have MS-sized beam weaponry, once they [[KryptoniteIsEverywhere stole four out of the five Gundams...]]
** In ''SEED'', the [[ChromeChampion Akatsuki Gundam]] has this in the ''opposite'' direction of the Phase Shift Armor: it's more or less invulnerable to beam weapons, to the point of ''reflecting'' them.
** A ''non-''Gundam example occurs in Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'' with Argo Gulskii, the enormous wrestler from Neo-Russia. It's especially capable at defending against [[spoiler:beam weaponry, where it was shown that a massive WaveMotionGun that was capable of destroying an entire city was nonetheless unable to make so much as a scratch against a grunt mobile suit with Nano-laminate Armor]].
* Gin, Akame, and John from ''Anime/GingaDensetsuWeed'' stop Nero and his dogs from picking on Hook, only for Nero's lackeys to attack. However, they seem too tough to throw down, and even one dogs biting on Gin's throat remarks that they're as tough as lead. Even Gin's calm smile told them that he and his friends are too tough for them to beat. But Hougen...[[CardCarryingVillain is another story]].
* In ''LightNovel/SwordArtOnline'', environmental features are invincible, and display a sign saying "Immortal Object" when a player attempts to damage them. Gamemasters can do the same; [[spoiler:the AI Yui]] no sells an attack from an end-game boss this way, while [[spoiler:Akihiko, masquerading as Heathcliff]], becomes invincible right before his HP hits the yellow zone.
* ''Anime/PuellaMagiMadokaMagica'':
** During their fight in Episode 5, Sayaka charges at Kyouko, only to be blocked by Kyouko, who stands with a bored expression and only one hand on her lance ([[BigEater she is eating with the other]]), while Sayaka is clearly putting all of her strength into the attack.
** Homura brings out [[spoiler:an entire military's worth of hardware (including a ''stadium-full of bombs'')]] against Walpurgis Night. Walpurgis Night, after a few seconds pause, [[LaughingMad resumes cackling madly and causing destruction]].
* ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'': A young [[UsedToBeASweetKid Russia]] calls down his [[BlessedWithSuck "ally"]] [[AnIcePerson General Winter]], the AnthropomorphicPersonification of the Russian winter, to dissuade Denmark, Sweden, the Teutonic Knights and Mongolia from chasing and attacking him, only for it have absolutely no effect on them, since the aforementioned countries were born in a cold area, and are used to the cold.
* ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure''
** There is a Stand with this ability, [[spoiler:Gold Experience Requiem, the [[NextTierPowerUp evolved form]] of Giorno's Gold Experience,]] which reverts any hostile action against him (even ones he's not aware of) back to zero. This is actually more terrifying than it initially sounds, as it lets the enemy's action ''almost'' play out, then [[TheBattleDidntCount rewinds time right back to when the foe 'started' to act]], but without them actually doing it this time, [[MyRulesAreNotYourRules more or less denying the attack ever happened to begin with]]. It even denies [[spoiler: enemies who can accurately predict the future and remove time for everyone else except the user]]. Combined with the fact that anything it hits dies forever, over and over again (because it keeps resetting the death it inflicted to zero, and lets it happen again in a different way), and it's little wonder that [[spoiler:Giorno was immediately PutOnABus never to return after Part 5]]. What puts this example heads and shoulders above all others is the fact that ''nobody knows this ability exists'', not even its own user, and nobody ''can'' know it exists, because the moment an attack is initiated, everyone, including all observers, will simply be reset to zero, and remain completely unaware of what just happened. Even worse is that it is highly implied that this ability activates automatically against any threat, regardless of whether the Stand or its user is ''even aware of any danger''. The ''only'' time on record it went up against something it couldn't No Sell (and in fact found ''itself'' on the receiving end of the No Sell before being pummeled) was in ''VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureEyesOfHeaven'' when it went up against [[spoiler:[[PhysicalGod Heaven Ascension DIO's]] ultimate evolved Stand The World Over Heaven]], a Stand which is an explicit RealityWarper on a universal scale and StoryBreakerPower incarnate.
** The Stand Yellow Temperance is a BlobMonster that can change its own characteristics to counter any kind of damage. Physical attacks? It can absorb their impact, no matter their strength. Heat? It makes it grow faster. Cold? Not only it won't cause any damage to it, but it'll grow frozen spikes to attack you with. On top of that, it can be used to protect its user. However, there are some kinds of attacks that cannot affect the Stand but ''can'' affect the user - like throwing the user underwater so that it cannot breathe.
* Phantom of ''Anime/HappinessChargePrettyCure'' easily overwhelms any and all Precure who cross him. In fact, the day he battled Cure Lovely and Cure Fortune, he couldn't help to admit that this battle would be the first time he drew ''his sword''.
* ''Anime/{{Mazinkaiser}}'''s first episode has the titular robot tanking a [[ChestBlaster Breast Fire]] from a Baron Ashura-piloted Anime/MazingerZ and a Breast Burn from Anime/GreatMazinger. Both attacks are supposed to be powerful enough to liquefy ''metal''.
* In the first chapter of the ''Dash & Spin: Chousoku Sonic'' manga, when Dr. Eggman tries getting Sonic's feet stuck to the floor by some glue substance to make him helpless. However, Sonic just pulls his feet out and gives chase, mildly annoyed that he now got chunks of concrete stuck on his shoes.
* In ''LightNovel/UnlimitedFafnir'', None of the attacks the girls use against the White Leviathan have any effect against it due to its DeflectorShields. Fortunately Yuu figures out a way to utilize Iris's attacks to get around them so they can defeat it.
* The Fleet of Fog, the antagonists of ''Manga/ArpeggioOfBlueSteel'', are equipped with neigh-invulnerable DeflectorShields that let them No Sell any attack short of a nuclear detonation (and maybe even one of those but we've never seen it attempted). Fortunately for humanity, the Fog are vulnerable to their own weapons and [[DefectorFromDecadence one of them is on our side]].
* As part of his NighInvulnerability, Saitama of ''Webcomic/OnePunchMan'' is effectively invincible. He often ignores most attempts to hurt him--sometimes not even acknowledging he's being attacked. In one instance he was kicked into space and crashed into the moon. He simply held his breath, picked himself up, and ''jumped back to Earth''. When he lands he is totally unharmed from the blow that launched him into space, and his trips to and from the moon and simply says "Oh! I made it." In the end his totally inability to get hurt only serves to depress him, because at his current level of ridiculous power, even the most dangerous, planet destroying powerful beings simply pose no challenge to him whatsoever.
* The [[SmartGun Dominator]] cannot be used on either of the [[BigBad Big Bads]] in ''Anime/PsychoPass'', albeit for differing reasons.
** Shogo Makishima [[spoiler:is [[TheSociopath criminally asymptomatic]], so his Psycho-Pass goes ''down'' as he performs criminal acts. Therefore, he cannot be identified as a criminal, and the Dominator is prevented from firing]].
** Kirito Kamui [[spoiler:cannot be judged by the Sibyl System ''at all.'' Due to extensive surgery after a plane crash which involved [[MixAndMatchMan getting transplants from nearly two hundred people]], the resulting clash of biometric data renders Sibyl unable to register him as an individual. The Dominator will not fire on him because as far as the Dominator is concerned, there's nothing there to fire at]].

** [[TheParalyzer Knocking master Jirou]] after [[spoiler:taking off his [[PowerLimiter seals]],]] gained ability to stop damage from enemy attacks within his body. That ability allows him to take mountain-leveling attacks without even a scratch. However, [[spoiler:he not nullifying damage - he just stops it inside his body. And when someone with his level of skill releases all that damage...[[PentUpPowerPeril things get messy]]]].
** Main reason, that [[spoiler:[[BigBad Neo demon]]]] is so hard to kill, is the fact, that he can eat [[ExtremeOmnivore virtually everything, including enemy attacks]]. So far he managed to eat [[spoiler:attack that can stop the Earth, attack, that sends ripples trough Earth, several giant meteorites and even tiny supernova, capable of destroying the planet]]. One time he [[spoiler: got swallowed by Mother Snake and simply drank all her stomach acid before it was able to dissolve him]]. And even when he not eating the attack, he still can take ridiculous amounts of damage - even attack, that punches him through entire planet ''several times'', only lightly bloodied him up.
* After Hendrickson from ''Manga/TheSevenDeadlySins'' goes into [[spoiler:[[OneWingedAngel gray demon mode ]]]], attacks of entire army of [[OneManArmy Holy Knights]], wasn't able to put even a scratch on him. Only Sins actually manage to do some damage to him, and even them wasn't strong enough.
** The last Sin's introduction:[[spoiler:Once the sun is up, Escanor takes on Galand (who [[CurbStompBattle curb stomped]] Meliodas, Merlin and Diane while in a weakened state earlier). Galand uses magic to double his strength and throw a full power attack. The surrounding mountains are cut in half... and Escanor barely got a scratch and [[IsThatTheBestYouCanDo sighed]]]]. As seen later, This guy LOVES this trope.
* During a party in ''Manga/KaguyaSamaLoveIsWar'', the Principal has a highly skilled debater from the French Shuchiin Academy give Shirogane a [[BreakThemByTalking Breaking Speech]] as a SecretTestOfCharacter. * ''Anime/SuperDimensionFortressMacross'': In the post-TimeSkip episode "Satan's Dolls", Minmay and Kaifun are kidnapped by Kamujin and Laplamiz. Minmay begins to sing, knowing that music and culture in general has the effect of soothing Zentradi. At first, Kamujin and Laplamiz react in horror and fascination as if the song is having an effect on them, before slamming the table, gloating that they were putting on an act and [[WhamShot kissing]], declaring they can produce their own [[IsThatWhatTheyreCallingItNow culture]].
* Dark and light magic are both fairly obscure abilities in ''LightNovel/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom''. Light magic is just very rare while dark magic is not naturally occurring and a closely held government secret. When a dark magician tries to use mind control powers on Maria, a light magic user, it turns out that light magic grants immunity to dark magic. Dark magic's emotional manipulation also fails against Katarina because to make someone crazy with jealousy they need to feel at least a little bit of it first and then amplify it, but Katarina feels no such thing (all other dark magic works just fine on her though).
* ''Manga/BoboboboBobobo'' doesn't so much shrug off enemy attacks as he does alter what they do to him in order to confuse them. For example, one enemy he faced could turn people into [[TakenForGranite stone]] through his stare. When he does it on Bo-bobo, he turns into a [[AnthropomorphicFood cabbage]]. When he tries it again, Bo-bobo becomes an eggplant instead.
** Don Patch once shrugged off machine gun fire from an enemy, claiming it didn't work on him because he's an idiot.
* In ''VideoGame/ArcanaFamiglia'', Luca's Arcana power (Il Bacio dell'Angelo) allows him to disable another Arcana users' powers.
* All versions of ''Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato'' use it to show just why [[HopelessWar Earth couldn't win against Gamilas]] and then to show the tide had turned:
** In the live action movie, Earth's last fleet fires a salvo against a Gamilan squadron [[https://youtu.be/GenQSOl1OMQ?t=58 to absolutely no effect]]. It's also hinted it used to be the other way around, with human ships being superior to their Gamilan counterparts but [[AdaptiveAbility the Gamilans adapted and outpaced Earth ships]].
** In both the original series and [[Anime/SpaceBattleshipYamato2199 the remake]], the Battle of Pluto features an Earth fleet (Earth's last fleet in the original, ''Japan''[='=]s last fleet operating under UN banner in the remake) firing at the Gamilan's squadron based on Pluto and their fire ''[[https://youtu.be/sSrYskeie-s?t=34 bouncing off the Gamilan ships' hull]]'', as Earth weapons are too weak to even scratch them unless heavily concentrated. The only exception is the ''Yukikaze''[='=]s missiles and, in the remake, the spinal-mounted shock cannons (or so it's hinted), [[{{Foreshadowing}} the former being prototypes of the latest missile type to provide to the]] ''[[{{Foreshadowing}} Yamato]]'' [[{{Foreshadowing}} and the latter a less advanced version of what would provide the main battery of Earth's last battleship]].
** The ''Yamato'' always shrugs off Gamilan weapon fire unless heavily concentrated-something the Gamilans cannot do in the early battles. It's always understood this is a temporary situation, as the Gamilans ''will'' eventually concentrate enough ships to damage the ''Yamato'' (or, in the live action, adapt and produce sufficiently powerful weapons), as it happens-and in the two anime series [[OhCrap well before anticipated]].
** When caught in a trap by Domel's enormous fleet, the ''Yamato'' tries to get out by destroying his flagship and fires on it, only to have the shock cannons ''bounce on its hull'' due a combination of the ''Domelaze III'' being a ''Zoelguut''-class Class-1 Astro Battleship (Gamilas' newest battleship design barring [[spoiler:Deslar's ''[[SuperProtype Deusura II]]'']], and heavily armored due perceived deficiences in the armor of the previous' ''Gaiderohl''-class), not being at 100% power, and long distance (a later salvo, fired at point blank, ''does'' penetrate).
** Gatlantis' White Comet proves just how formidable it is by tanking a salvo of [[spoiler:''{{Wave Motion Gun}}s'']] from the entire Earth's fleet without damage. For perspective, the same fleet had just massacred ''the entirety of Gatlantis' fleet'' [[spoiler:(without using the wave motion guns in the original series, and spamming them in the remake due the difference in numbers)]].
* In ''Anime/GaoGaiGar''[='s=] FinalBattle, the Zounda Robo effortlessly blocks and destroys the titular machine's upgraded weapons without a single thought. However, when Mamoru is injured protecting the machine from Zounda Robo's counter attack, Guy flips out and performs a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown on the machine.

* ''Anime/{{Pokemon}}'':
** Iris' new Dragonite showed how strong it was when it took multiple ice attacks head on without slowing down.
** Iris' battle against Drayden had his Druddigon no-selling Iris' Dragonite's Ice Beam and Dragon Rush. It had [[ElementalRockPaperScissors no business]] ''doing'' that!

** There is a Stand with this ability, [[spoiler:Gold Experience Requiem, the evolved form of Giorno's Gold Experience,]] which reverts any hostile action against him (even ones he's not aware of) back to zero. This is actually more terrifying than it initially sounds, as it lets the enemy's action ''almost'' play out, then [[TheBattleDidntCount rewinds time right back to when the foe 'started' to act]], but without them actually doing it this time, [[MyRulesAreNotYourRules more or less denying the attack ever happened to begin with]]. It even denies [[spoiler: enemies who can accurately predict the future and remove time for everyone else except the user]]. Combined with the fact that anything it hits dies forever, over and over again (because it keeps resetting the death it inflicted to zero, and lets it happen again in a different way), and it's little wonder that [[spoiler:Giorno was immediately PutOnABus never to return after Part 5]]. What puts this example heads and shoulders above all others is the fact that ''nobody knows this ability exists'', not even its own user, and nobody ''can'' know it exists, because the moment an attack is initiated, everyone, including all observers, will simply be reset to zero, and remain completely unaware of what just happened. Even worse is that it is highly implied that this ability activates automatically against any threat, regardless of whether the Stand or its user is ''even aware of any danger''. The ''only'' time on record it went up against something it couldn't No Sell (and in fact found ''itself'' on the receiving end of the No Sell before being pummeled) was in ''VideoGame/JoJosBizarreAdventureEyesOfHeaven'' when it went up against [[spoiler:[[PhysicalGod Heaven Ascension DIO's]] ultimate evolved Stand The World Over Heaven]], a Stand which is an explicit RealityWarper on a universal scale and StoryBreakerPower incarnate.

** The last Sin's introduction:[[spoiler:Once the sun is up, Escanor takes on Galand (who [[CurbStompBattle curb stomped]] Meliodas, Merlin and Diane while in a weakened state earlier). Galand uses magic to double his strength and throw a full power attack. The surrounding mountains are cut in half... and Escanor barely got a minor injury and [[IsThatTheBestYouCanDo sighed]]]]. As seen later, This guy LOVES this trope.

*** When Cell achieved perfect status, he ''didn't even notice'' Krillin attacking him. Even when Krillin used the same Destructo Disc attack which has previously cut enemies who were ''vastly'' more powerful than Krillin (like when he cut off second-form Freeza's tail), it simply shatters when it hits Cell's neck.

*** In the same film, at one point Vegeta goes SSGSS and is fighting a tired Golden Frieza. In a desperate attempt to regain control of the fight, Golden Frieza fires dozens of energy beams at Vegeta. Vegeta keeps strolling forward with absolutely no indication of damage or notice whatsoever. It's even better when one remembers that Frieza took the same kinds of blows from him back on Namek.

*** In the Universe Tournament in Super, some of the fighters appear immune to attacks. Goku, while in his [[spoiler:Ultra Instinct mode]] dodges every single attack thrown at him, Jiren doesn't avoid any attack (he's just so strong that only [[spoiler:Ultra Instinct Goku]] can make him even flinch. Toppo uses his Destruction energy to nullify any attacks thrown at him. Hit uses Time-Skip to avoid getting hit and [[spoiler:both Berserk Kale and Kefla, the Potara Fusion of Kale and Caulifla]], simply either dodge or charge through attacks.
*** In ''Anime/DragonBallSuperBroly'' the titular berserker displays this again, as no sells attack after attack as he gets stronger, at one point Goku uses '''[[TheParalyzer God Bind]]''' on him and Broly just muscles out of it. Towards the end Goku and Vegeta use [[CombinedEnergyAttack Kahameha Galick Gun]] an Broly just plows through it, even Gogeta's [[MoralityGuidedAttack Stardust Breaker]] only damages Broly slighty despite it disintegrating Janemba in the non-canon movie.

*** Tien used this deliberately: he used Shin Kikoho to keep slamming Semi-perfect Cell into the ground to buy Android 16 and 18 time enough to flee despite the Shin Kikoho slowly killing him with every blast. Even though it barely scratched the Bio-Android, it bought just enough time for the team until Goku arrived to save both Tien and Piccolo. It one of Tien's best moments before he stopped being able to even compete anymore.
