* ''MagicTheGathering'': Black and red together generally combine fear and violence, as the Cult of Rakdos in Ravnica is eager to show.
** In older sets it was used more like "Violent Death". Red for violence (typically burn spells) and black for death (typically life draining spells). Black/Red decks specialized in dealing massive damage to everything and everyone. The trick was to kill them before you kill yourself.
* The Red-Eyes Black Dragon in ''YuGiOh'' was one of the most powerful cards when first released. Typically matched up with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
