Anne's parents force her to marry the Lancastrian heir Edouard, while Richard stays loyal to his brother, King Edward IV. Richard's side wins and Anne's husband and father are killed. Although she's branded a traitor by many Yorkists, Edward knows she was her father's pawn so he forgives her and allows Richard and Anne marry. The same events are portrayed in the novel ''Literature/TheSunneInSplendour'', albeit in a LighterAndSofter form.
