*** At times Trelawny actually does see the future, even when not in a trance, but badly misinterprets it. Take 'Prisoner of Azkaban' when she sees "grims" all over the place when anywhere near Harry. The shape of a grim is that of a large black dog...She interprets all those dog shapes as grims when in fact they are [[spoiler: Sirius Black in his animagus form]].

*** It would be more impressive if it weren't for the Author's CriticalResearchFailure because Ron does NOT win his chess game fairly. He makes Harry be a bishop, but Harry's movements resemble a Queen's. Notably the Kurt Vonnegut short story "All The King's Horses" that J.K. Rowling cribbed from (giant chessboard, human pieces get sacrificed/murdered including a heroic knight) had a General's wife (playing a Queen) be responsible for the checkmate. It's worse in the movie where she has the king and queen line up on the wrong sides of the board. Chess nerds were not amused.
*** Fanfics often take this to [[TheChessmaster the obvious conclusion]], making Ron a [[TheStrategist master strategist]].
