* On LiveJournal, the DC Universe [=RP=] of [[http://community.livejournal.com/jla_watchtower JLA Watchtower]] and its spinoff DCNation has been going strong since 2004, using a combination of adapted DC Comics storylines and original plots. There have also been "flashback" posts that go into earlier parts of DC continuity.

* The ''Shadowchasers'' fanverse, started by the FanFiction great BlackPanther, has spawned several continuing fanfics on fanfiction.net.

* All of the ''Series/DoctorWho'' stories on Webcomic/RichsComixBlog ([[ShrugOfGod possibly]] with the exception of [[GuestStrip Landry Walker]]'s "Seeds of Destruction") are built around the same continuity as the blog's best-known fic ''FanFic/The10Doctors''. This universe excludes the DoctorWhoExpandedUniverse; and thanks to {{Crossover}}s, it also includes ''Series/ForeverKnight'' and ''{{Jem}}''.

* Creator/{{Swing 123}} and Creator/{{garfieldodie}} have [[Fanfic/Swing123AndGarfieldodiesCalvinverse a fairly consistent universe]] in their ''ComicStrip/CalvinAndHobbes'' {{Fan Fic}}s, with [[Fanfic/CalvinAndHobbesTheMovie the]] [[Fanfic/CalvinAndHobbesIILostAtSea first]] [[Fanfic/CalvinAndHobbesIIIDoubleTrouble few]] [[Fanfic/CanYouImagineThat fics]] [[Fanfic/AttackOfTheTeacherCreature being]] [[Fanfic/TroubleIsland fake movies]] (one trilogy from each author), and the main connecting factor comes along in ''Fanfic/RetroChill'' and ''Fanfic/CalvinAndHobbesTheSeries'' from both of the authors, which uses characters from both of the trilogies (along with the side story "Prelude to a Season").

* The ''Manga/RanmaOneHalf'' Main/ElsewhereFic ''FanFic/BoyScoutsOneHalf'' has had multiple authors (many of which are also [[Main/SelfInsertFic Self Inserted]] characters, some before writing and some after), and has two [[{{Main/Spinoff}} Spinoffs]] and a {{Main/Sequel}}.

* ''{{Ambassadors of Liberty}}'' is a ''StargateVerse'' RP site with several other settings in the pipelines.

** ''Fanfic/SuperwomenOfEva'' are two separate Fan Verses that turn basically the entire female cast of ''Anime/NeonGenesisEvangelion'' into superheroines. In the first 'verse, Misato becomes [[TheIncredibleHulk She-Hulk]], Asuka Comicbook/GhostRider, Rei the ComicBook/SilverSurfer, Ritsuko [[Franchise/SpiderMan Spider-Woman]], Maya ''all'' the Franchise/FantasticFour, Mana [[IronMan Iron Maiden]], etc., while the second 'verse has Misato join the [[Franchise/GreenLantern Green Lantern Corps]], Asuka becoming PowerGirl, Rei [[ComicBook/WonderWoman Wonder Girl]], Ritsuko BlueBeetle, Maya {{Zatanna}}, Mana {{Steel}}, etc. Even some spinoff-only girls and the canonically ''dead'' mothers get into the game.

When fanfiction writers do several (not just a few, ''several'') fics for the same fandom in the same continuity as each other, that's a FanVerse. {{Worldbuilding}} counts a lot toward this label, as well.

If they keep it coherent and get enough interest, FanVerse writers can single-handedly influence {{Fanon}}, possibly to the point of being [[AscendedFanon canonized]] as an ExpandedUniverse.

** Ellen Brand's ''DannyPhantom'' fics and her ''Detective Conan'' "Unprofessional Opinion" series are actually set in the Personality Conflicts ExpandedUniverse.

* Fanfic/RainbowDoulbeDashsLunaverse is another ''My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic'' Fanverse. A collaborative effort, it has already finished a "season" and a "movie", and is now working on Season 2.

* The Lunaverse is another My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Fanverse. A collaborative effort, it has already finished a "season" and a "movie", and is now working on Season 2.
** The Lunaverse in turn inspired the Cadanceverse, another collaborative alternate universe created by one of the Lunaverse's top contributors.

* ''MegaTokyo'' has spawned at least three Fan Verses to date. The oldest is the ''MegaTokyo: the Clans'' game that started in 2001 on the MegaTokyo Forum, and which is ''still'' going (look for threads labled [Mt:tC] in the RP subforum). More recently is the Story Discussion Fanworks game that is hosted off site in its own dedicated forum. Most recently is the energetic MegatokyoCampfireStory that can be found in the fanart subforum.

* ''{{Static Space}}'' is a fanfic-verse derived from ''{{Asteroids}}'' of all series, inspired from Luke Rounda's (in)famous story, ''[[http://www.fanfiction.net/s/94829/1/Asteroids_Festival_Among_the_Rocks Asteroids: Festival Among the Rocks]]''.

* ''{{The Aethion Expanded Multiverse}}'' is a universe where any Bionicle fanfic writer can put their own work in and be considered "fanon" for the universe.

* ''FreedomCityPlayByPost'' is the largest online source for stories in the FreedomCity setting. Characters use the ''MutantsAndMasterminds'' rules set to make things a little more balanced than the usual collaborative free-form stories.

* ''MegaTokyo'' has spawned at least three Fan Verses to date.
