* In an ''{{Order of the Stick}}'' strip, a Hydra is defeated quite easily by making it grow too many heads to get blood to all of them.
** Which is a case of ScrewTheRulesIHavePlot as there is nothing in the rules to suggest that this could happen. In a normal game, the DM would be perfectly within his rights to say that the hydra's regenerative powers also covered efficient blood flow.
*** Also note that the hydra never seems to attack, even though it should have five simultaneous attacks each round (more with extra heads). As a rule, the overwhelming power of a high-ranked opponent tends to be drastically diminished ''if it never fights back'', regardless of whether you use cheese tactics or not.
*** Also note that the Monster Manual states that a Hydra can never have more than twice its normal number of heads at any one time.
**** This is addressed in the strip, though - it's specifically mentioned that the only reason the plan works is that this is [[LampshadeHanging not a normal hydra]]. The not fighting back - not so much...
*** Isn't [[LightningBruiser Belkar]] the only PC in close combat range? Given the penalty for the hydra hitting Belkar, and the probably of him outleveling it by a bunch (almost certain), I could see it racking up quite a string of unsuccessful attacks.
*** Also, RuleOfFunny.

From the end of the 90's until the lockout of 2004, the Blueshirts loaded up on superstars such as Wayne Gretzky, Eric Lindros, Pavel Bure, Theoren Fleury, and Mark Messier (after a disastrous run in Vancouver). Adding onto that, they also added many solid second-tier players (Bobby Holik, Mathieu Schneider, John MacLean, Kevin Hatcher) and signed them to expensive contracts.
