* Subverted in ancient Korean history, though it shades into mythology. King Ji-jeung (Ji-jeung-Wang in Korean--no, I am not making this up!) was the 22nd king of Shilla, a kingdom which took up the southeast region of modern Korea. He ruled from A.D. 500 to 514. The likely mythological story in the Samguk Yusa (History of the Three Kingdoms) is that his member was too large at about 20 inches for him to find a bride. Understandably desperate, he sent men all over the kingdom to find a woman who could, well, take it.
