* HeIsNotMyBoyfriend: People keep asking Tiffany questions about Roland that she'd rather not answer.

* HowWeGotHere: The first scene of the story takes place at what is basically thirty pages from the end of the book. However, it's stated that this is more sort of like something that could happen rather than something that absolutely definitely will. [[spoiler:It doesn't turn out quite like it but it mostly does.]]
* HumanoidAbomination: The Wintersmith becomes more human over time, but it's not really supposed to. Note the 'it.' Thus, it never quite makes it.
* {{Invisibility}}: There's a trick witches can pull on others where they drastically tone down their presence and become unnoticeable. They're still there, and you can still see them, but you tend to be absolutely sure they're not and completely overlook them. Tiffany learns it by observing Granny Weatherwax and some of the younger witches are jealous about it.

She figures out through the observation skills that Annagramma doesn't use that not only is Annagramma's father not a major land owner, he's not even a farmer. He just works for one. Annagramma is a nobody just like her.]]

* {{Pride}}: Annagramma's biggest failing. Beneath the rather large amount of arrogance/snobbery she's more lost than anything.

Tiffany tells her that it's important for the family to give them something in return and that refusing it would be an insult. When Summer offers Tiffany a reward for stopping the Wintersmith's rampage, Tiffany ''does'' refuse, since she was cleaning up her own mistake.

Tiffany begins receiving gifts from the Wintersmith: every single snowflake is a tiny Tiffany, he grows roses of ice in the garden, and erects an iceberg in her image. Miss Treason is unable to help her, as she dies the next Friday (at a little bit past 6:30...) and Annagramma Hawkin, self-appointed leader of the young witches' coven and a student of [=MagiK=] with Mrs Earwig, gets the cottage. Granny Weatherwax comes for Tiffany and escorts her to Nanny Ogg's house after getting rid of Tiffany's necklace, which the Wintersmith is using to track her.

Miss Tick, Nanny and Granny explain to Tiffany that during the Morris dance, she became slightly mixed up with the embodiment of summer, the Summer Lady. As it turns out, Tiffany gains some of her powers. Wherever she walks, [[FertileFeet plantlife springs from the ground]] (or the floorboards...). After a warning from Anoia, Goddess of Things That Get Stuck in Drawers, a cornucopia lands in the garden. The cornucopia provides any foodstuff possible.

The winter grows progressively worse, and Annagramma is growing mad in her new duties as a witch. Her brand of magic is useless in day-to-day life for the villagers, and Tiffany petitions for the other young witches around the mountain to help her adjust and learn. The Wintersmith, at the same time, having heard a children's song, begins to gather raw materials to create a human body for him to use to woo Tiffany, but doesn't understand what it means to be human. Meanwhile, the Ramtops suffers a long and harsh winter and the witches work overtime to help the folk survive.

The Nac Mac Feegle train Roland, a prince of the Chalk and Tiffany's penpal (possibly more), to be a hero. With them, he travels to the underworld to free the Summer Lady. The Wintersmith finds Tiffany again, but she confronts him and convinces him to let summer and winter return to their natural cycle.
